Masculine cards - ODBD + Webster's Pages Yacht Line petite papers

Had a go at masculine type cards with the
WP Yacht Line pps with the ODBD Time set.
Re-discovering the joy of Stick-ling , and the use of the MR chipboard scroll shapes .
The chipboard shape was inked with 2 colors - Pumice Stone and Faded Jeans Distress Inks.
The pearl flag stick is from the Girls' Paperie.
The sentiment for this card is from the Each Minute Full of Grace line
I found it much harder to embellish this one and decided
to bring out my Eyelet Outlet stash of brads and used them here & there .;)

More later . Happy Crafty Weekend , everyone! ;)

June Let Your Light Shine Scrapbook Challenge - ODBD

It's a  sketch scrapbook challenge for this month over at the ODBD blog,
Create a layout using this sketch of any size using ODBD stamps .
Definitely of my fave kinds of scrappy challenge
so it was relatively easy to join in for the first time .;)
The sketch inspiration is above.
I have rotated it to fit my photo orientation.
Haven't bought BG since Feb & the Lauderdale pps  seem to fit a lot of new outdoorsy pics
we have on hand & I decided to give the pps a go.
I have mounted an 8x8 " pc of Wavelength pp  on a KI Memories' Sheer .
( Hello ? Anyone remember these ? They are going for $0.50 here
which is practically a giveaway - so just had to get one ! teehee ! )

This Finish the Moment quote stamp is part of the ODBD June release ,
and so appropriate I thought for this pic
where DD & her church youth leader were posing at the bottom of the hill
before the start of their group hike . ;)
I also used Versafine ink in Onyx Black here.
Other supplies :
BG Lauderdale Pops,
BG Basic Doily Ribbon,
Such Sweet Tierney Origin Chipboard buttons

Echo Park's Country Drive was one of our new arrivals here this week .

Misting on the background with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist - Firefly.

My kids were attending their first Church Youth Camp for the year and had a blast !

Made it a point to use up different kinds of embellies that I've had for a while now . ;)
I also played along with Sketch 124 over at the Scrappiest .

Do what makes you happy !

Sometimes when I have extra printed pics that I've scrapped before
I like to take inspiration from some of my absolute fave scrappers & try something
different from what I normally do.
For this layout , I was inspired by Keisha Campbell
I just love how Keisha is able to come up with countless ways to use tags, banners ,paper ribbon strips
and each time her layout design looks as fresh as ever . Just wow in my books ! ;)

The vintage sewing pattern paper flower here is by Chelley Bean Designs.
& I've used a Slice Die cut from the Grandma's Attic design card with it.
I've used a mix of supplies from Sassafras Lass , KI Memories and Pink Paislee on this layout.
What a fun mix ! Just love it  that I've used up some older stash too.
I must say Sass pps are quite timeless . If I never buy anymore new paper henceforth, ( hear ! hear ?)
I'd like to think I can get by with my not little Sass stash ! hey ! hey !

Speaking of new releases ahead , I am not holding my breath too much in great expectations
based on some of the lines that have been early released so far.
Seems like scrappers all over are to an extent tired/bored of overdone themes, patterns , product types.
Nevertheless, I'm sure some brands will delight, surprise  & surpass themselves .

Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD37)

I thought I'd try out the latest challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs Blog
to make use of my brand new stamps .
The latest challenge is to
use ODBD images to create your own background papers.
  ODBD background stamps are okay!
Just make sure to have at least one panel that was totally stamped with ODBD images to create the paper.

So I tried out the Crocheted Background stamp on a scrap piece of kraft.
I first stamped it with Brilliance White ink but didn't achieve the look I wanted.
So I tried stamping with Walnut Stain Distress Ink on the reverse and quite like how it turned out.
I also used a scrap piece of rejected stamping here on the panel .Lol.
The sentiment is from the ODBD Full of Grace Serve set.
I have been stamping up sentiments on these Maya Rd scroll chipboard pieces
which I  applied gesso on first . Works for me !
I then ink them up in colors to suit the project when needed.

Other supplies :
Girls' Paperie Kitch pps, Prima florals,
Stickles - Frosted Lace, Diamond.

My Little Shoebox- Oasis - Layout

For my MLSB DT assignments this month, I worked with the charming Japanese themed Oasis line .
It is a very versatile line , certainly not limited to Japanese travel related pages and such.
Here's an everyday page ,
where I decided to put my Slice machine to good use
and happily die cut out some lovely butterflies from the Paper Reverie design card.
I also can't stop using these Zva Creative butterfly swirl series and must have bought up nearly every color of this design as I happily use up this stash whenever I can.;)
These white paper doily flowers are also quite dummy proof to make -
and a topping of Prima fabric flower just makes it perfect .

New discoveries ...

My very first order from Our Daily Bread Designs arrived yesterday
and as always , I couldn't wait to test drive some of the sentiment stamps .

Fortunately , I had some semi finished cards in my stash
( I haven't had a clue on how best to finish them for the longest time )
and all I did was to add an appropriate sized sentiment to them !
And everything came together easily . woohoo !
So my tip of the day :
Go ahead and make cards up
and use stamps to finish them off ,
when you're stumped . lol !
other tips from this card :
Use your die cut machine to cut out  nice flourish designs out of co-ordinating paper
you don't particularly like in the same line . Chances are you can put the die cut to good use .

Stickles : I now believe my Stickles collection is one of the most underrated mediums I have on hand.
Definitely a quick way to add any amount of bling to a project that you thought was ho hum before .
I try to use at least 3 colors of Stickles on a project.
In fact, I think I need a re-stock of Diamond Stickles soon.;)

Here's another eg, I simply stamped a sentiment
unto a Crafty Secrets' journalling spot
and viola !
Finally my card could be called mostly done .

Another great discovery I made when my ODBD stamps arrived was
that each stamp has been mounted unto Cling Cushion.
The cushion foam layer ensures an excellent stamped image every time.
I don't think I own any stamps with Cling Cushion ( save maybe a lone Fiskars set ) until now , so that was icing on my stamping cake for sure !

You can be sure I'll try to be stamping up a storm with so
many wonderful stamp designs on hand.

Bo Bunny's Card Challenge - all about the flowers !

It's time for another Bo Bunny card challenge .
As always , I love these challenges for helping use up
stash more meaningfully , in a new way I haven't thought of
or simply just an excuse to use up more beautiful paper of that line .
Often it's all of the above.

Can't beat Prima flowers for their beauty and great finishing .
It's nice to be frugal and try to make our own handmade flowers I know
- but truth be told ,
my own finishing touch on handmade embellies sometimes leave much to be desired .
My own solution to this problem is to simply put off purchasing these kinds of goodies
until a much better discount comes along. ;)

Mini album - Oasis - over at My Little Shoebox's blog

My first mini album DT project for My Little Shoebox
is up over at the MLSB Blog

I sure had a good time putting together a fun mini
using the Oasis line and a Maya Road floral edged layered  album.

The mini album is entitled April Fave Memories.
I gessoed the chipboard pages before adhering the paper down.

I used the Oasis die cut tags as photo matts for the smaller pics.

The last 2 pages of the mini album features a multi-pocket page made using coordinating Oasis paper
and a mini accordion album to accommodate more pics and journaling on a page.

Thanks for stopping by !!
Hope you're having a a great crafty type of weekend ! ;)

Gone all mist-y today ...

Done in by an irrestible promo at one of our LSS',
I came home with 4 more bottles of TA's Chalkboard Mists -
Firefly, Inchworm, Grape Ape, and Polka Dot Pink.;)

It does feel like I haven't done any kind of major misting for the longest time -
and so I  turned to Gaelle Fauglas for some major inspiration !
I used  the new Chalkboard Mists I brought home on the background Pink Paislee pp
with some older Apricot  Nectar Chalkboard Mist right at the bottom of the layout.
Since I had this extra printed out photo I decided not to waste it and simply scrap it again here .;)

Was also inspired to de-hoard some of my TA embellishments -
like the chipboard foil star piece, foil tag and Heidi Swapp's Title Set - Simple Sayings .

The chipboard bird branch is Dusty Attic's.

Get Your Glitz One Challenge #2 - Top 5 entry

Got a lovely surprise over the weekend
to see my layout entry as a top 5 mention over at Glitz Design's blog ! ;)

I have been busy scrapping behind the scenes
just that they can't be shown just yet .
Otherwise, I'm very much into exploring all kinds
of scoring and folding projects still !
Yup , you guessed it , my Martha Stewart Scoring board tool
is just my fave gamechanging papercrafting tool of the moment !
Love it when that happens !
I've always loved making practical gifts -
so if I can extend  my cardmaking /papercrafting ways to
making different kinds of gifts every now and then
(& that pleasantly surprises the recipients too ! )
it's game on ! lol .

My Little ShoeBox Mix It Up Blog Hop !

Happy Friday everyone , welcome to my end of  another fun MLSB blog hop!!!
{The START is HERE !}
I love these blog hops , so of course I had to jump on board. ;)
The idea for this blog hop is a fun  one -
which is to simply mix up the latest collections!!
All our MLSB lines  go together  well even if they're all themed differently -
another great quality that makes MLSB so versatile and easy to use !

Apart from the background paper here,
I decided to use up my scraps from the different CHA Winter 2011 collections.
I also used the Becky Fleck layout sketch below as my design guide.

My Mix It Up Supplies are ---
Base Patterned Paper : Oasis Pink Blossom ,
Garden Party Busy Bee pp & cardstock stickers,
City By the Bay Mission District pp & cardstock stickers,
Farmers Market Die cuts,
Home Sweet Home cardstock stickers

I love how my bright albeit vintage theme park picture of my kidlets goes with these papers
and embellishments . ;)
Seems like only yesterday ( rather than 7 years ago ! ) they were this age !

Thanks  SO MUCH for joining us !
Trust you received loads of inspiration along the way for your weekend scrappy-ness !!!
