Prima May BAP

Found time today to create with Prima's
May Build-A-Page sketch.

It was great to put together different products from the older &  latest Prima releases together .

I misted in a bracket shape & the border of flowers below the pic
is a product called Beauty Marks .
It would be a rare find these days.;)

How green can I go ?

Love love this deep green background paper from
Pebble's Inc Treehouse line with this mix of papers.
Just love how bold , graphic and vibrant this line is.

Pic taken here is at our very first downtown freshwater
reservoir  called Marina Barrage.
The Green Roof here provides a truly panaromic view of the city skyline.
It is also part of Marina Barrage’s eco-friendly feature
as the grass on the roof helps to lower the building’s  temperature
so less energy is used.

Other supplies used : Basic Grey Basics journalling stickers, KI Memories Glitter border stickers,
7 Gypsies' Avignon pp, brown twine , Auumn Leaves' buttons, AC Thickers, OA mini alphas.

TCR#7 - Delight in your youth

I nearly chickened out of this color challenge
but persevered in the end
and am happy with this unusual color combo
on my layout .

I have just got my hands on some MME So Sophie pps this week ,
some of which are so very vibrant - reds, oranges
but certainly this terracota orange jumped out of the TCR palette
& I knew I'd like to use one of the
So Sophie pps & went for the diecut Celebrate.
I really liked it backed with the Charming "forever with you" botanical pp.
I worked everything else in from there.

Rather tickled by Jing-Jing's choice of SEI Jocelyn ,
I had a look at my scraps left over from making cards and a mini .
& found the mustard yellow & dusky mauve within the papers .

The sketch is just right up my alley ,
in terms of using small geometric shapes -
squares , rectangles - perfect for scraps
or papers you might not have cut into otherwise .
( I have learnt ,to my great delight,
that anything in small doses
can come up with surprisingly nice results )

I just got hold of some scrunched vintage seam binding this week -
&  definitely had some in pale dusky green.
Happy to put some to work here ,
inspired by Ronda Palazzari's LO.

I'm on a trend here ...

Using up scraps of My Little Shoebox's All a Flutter pp this time .
The background cardstock is an MME So Sophie Pretty Thing .
& the title is a Pebble Inc Treehouse sticker.
I also snagged a Tree of Life template today ,
by the Crafter's Workshop
& just had to try out masking in the sun's rays using
Maya Mist Lemon Metallic Mist.

Here's to sunshine & rainbows ! :)

ICSketches #67

My last card  using the Paper Girl line
by the Girls' Paperie for now .
I really love adding the stamped stitches -
so easy to do - although imperfectly in parts . ;)
hope I remember to use them much more now !

The Scrappiest layout sketch 65

It seems my current great fave  is  the BG Capella
combined with some Basic pp .
I just find it so versatile and
great with my everyday pics so far.

A very interesting sketch to try this week - Sketch 65
I considered using 2 separate papers/cardstock
 for the diagonal block idea
but settled on misting a dark color on the diagonal right half
of this BG Basic pp instead & love the effect !
It's rather subtle going from light to dark.

I used a store bought crochet doily flower here ( with a Prima rosebud center )
& crochet trim, now that it's still the trend  . :)

Another handmade flower idea using Webster's pages Bloomers
& brown ruffled ribbon as the base.

If you want to try the sketch and want to win that awesome kit from Scraptacular,
simply link your creations to Mr. Linky  before the month is over.
You could be this month's winner!

Bakeless Choc Chip cookies !!

Just a little pictorial with 5 pics to give you
an idea of how it's possible to do
Bakeless Choc Chip cookies !
Yes you heard me rite ! Bakeless ! ;)

The ingredients & steps are similar to oven baked cookies .

Creaming the butter , combining the sugar , eggs etc

Whoops ! No Pioneer Woman quality pics yet !
Sorry , blogging friends !
It is my first go at taking these kinda pics after all .
Dropping in the cookie mix off a teaspoon
into the "oven" here .

What oven you say ?
Well , this  is a 2L saute pan( stainless steel )
which you simply line with greaseproof paper -
put the cookware on an induction cooker preferably .
cover it & in about 9 mins - 1 min on high , 8 mins on med heat -
& The cookies are done !!
They do turn out crispy & chewie . How about that !

okay , so I haven't given the full recipe here
simply because this is a recipe for those
who have a waterless stainless steel type cookware .
So if you have one , let me know &
I'll be happy to share the recipe with yer !

In the mood for cards - part deux

More cards made with the Paper Girl papers from the
Girls' Paperie.

Used Shimmerz Blingz on the mini Maya Road scroll here ,
prettied up with some Prima bling.

Webster's trim, CI cardstock sticker,
Maya Rd mini chipboard butterfly painted with Choc Blingz ,
Some yummy Primas

really enjoyed doing the stitched Fontwerks stamping here .
Even pulled out a Fiskars sentiment stamp .
I was in such a cardmaking mood this week ,
I totally lost my mojo for layouts ! ;)
Which is just as well .

I attended my first ever cooking class this morning -
( well, if you minus those I took during domestic science aka home economics days in school ! )

Here's a sneak peek at what was whipped up  :
Bakeless Choc Chip cookies !
I tried to practice more picture taking skills
while at class & will try to put up a step-by-step for this in my next post .
Yums ! My kind of class -
of course we ate up everything
that was cooked up today ,
which was a 3 course thing  -
 a salad , a main dish & a little dessert/snack .

Meet today's cards ...

**check out my photography post here earlier **

More G45 A Proper Gentleman cards here -
I have quite a bit of paper left of this line
& my go to papers still for masculine cards ,
for older guys for sure !

This is my first card using the On the Boardwalk pps .
Sentiment is a dimensional sticker by Anna Griffin.
Still using my Fontwerk's stitched clear stamps here ,
using metallic inks .

this morning , after the rain ...

is this one interesting at all ?

some furry pals

minimal photo editing on these pics taken with my nifty fifty
before 9 am this morning .
Let me know what you think of 'em .
( especially on how to improve 'em ! )

I played with the White Balance setting for these pics -
the one on the left uses Cloudy while
for the one on the right I tried out the Tungsten option

Didn't take me more than 15 mins to get a bunch of shots that I quite like , for a start .;)

In the mood for cards

Using leftovers of the Paper Girl pp by the Girls' Paperie -
I thought they would be great on cards.

I've had some Fontwerks' stitched stamp designs for the longest time
and hardly give them a workout ,
especially on cards for that finished, stitched effect -
just "sew easy" to stamp away .

And so I did , in this series of cards .
This is just part 1.
