Trying out my new findings at one go :
BG Lemonade pps, sticker& diecut ;
Prima trellis rose ,
Martha Stewart simple scallop border punch
Kaiser Rhinestones

You can check out this week's sketch here .

Bon appetit

So many ideas going on here by the time
I pieced each part up one by one,
not fully explored .
Still I like how it turned out.
JB , Cosmo Cricket & October Afternoon mix.
Love the Bubblegum GM color as well.
So much cherry ideas going around these days I just had to give it a try as well -
I punched out several circles of cherries from the OA paper

For always

Really liked how this cardstock as background turned out :
First I distressed the edges of the
Core'dinations cardstock from the Chocolate Box range-
some of the Green core comes thru'
& then I ran my scissor edges randomly down each of the four sides.
Finally I picked out a SEI Petticoat diecut and misted Snow ANgel GM over it .
Loved the soft bling effect ! totally fun !

Give it a go if you haven't been misting over diecuts over cardstock !
Simply extends the life of the die cut beyond one use for sure .

I also loved the mix of Dove of the East Paris Vintage pp, Some G45 Transatlantique & handcut some flocked scrolls from a GCD Studio cardstock !
The rub ons are Prima's Flirty Little Secrets range.

Made the Lily Bee blog this week !

This layout made it to the Friday Faves !

Can't wait to see what Lily Bee will have this CHA Summer !

MY CHA Summer releases have been used up fast & furious already ! lol !

In a major first, I have almost used up my entire collection pack of BG Junebug !
I think I did 11 layouts with that pack ! woot !

I literally put every scrap to good use!
For this layout I used Raisin color wash &
misted it over a BG Doiley ( die cut )
unto a cardstock.

I have to say this BG Junebug is more versatile than I expected !
Great for both kids & adult, masculine layouts !
also retro pics are easily scrapped with this line !

I just might go get more if I can't
wait for other new papers to be released ! '

& one thing I've just learnt - it's always worth waiting to scrap older pics -
they really just are easier to scrap with the very LATEST papers ! ack !

My Little African Chinese neighbor here truly is

The Colors of Summer

Brand new Summer collection
yummy buttons here all by Such Sweet Tierney

So far the most exciting reveals to me have been Basic Grey's Lemonade/ JuneBug lines & Prima's New CHA Summer 2009 releases .
Of course we really haven't seen too many sneaks or reveals yet by the major manus.
Some new brands are debutting and have started their reveals -
the Cherry Pie/ traditional cooking themes still seems to be in trend right now .

Also went on a use up my CHA Winter '09 Primas blitz this weekend

CISter's Stylish June Sketches

Another great sketch blog just discovered -
I tried out their latest June sketches here !

Love how inspiring their colored sketches are .

We'll always have Paris layout - using my scraps of Lily Bee French Couture pps & their die cuts.
Some misting with a circular shape to follow the curve on the Eiffel Tower
as well as some near the paper edges for a distressed look.
For the title I recycled a Dove of the East pp label .
too lazy to print my own here.

This layout uses a mix of SEI, Prima pps & MM Wedding collection die cuts !
Love this unusual color combo
for this pic of our 16 yr old niece on her prom night last year .

Rouge De Garance meets Prima

Definitely love the combo of my 2 fave brands !
This one's for Scrapping The Music's Challenge #90 .

Journaling along the edges :
But sometimes,
We forget what we got,
Who we are.
Oh who are are not.
I think we gotta chance,
To make it right.

From the Song Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight .

Did a bit of masking with the TH's Flourish MAsk in the top left corner with Jazz Blue GM .
I added some stickles after that to put a little personal stamp on the pp .

Scrap The Boys ! Boys & their toys

Another SCRAP- tasic challenge blog I've just discovered , this time from Down Under !
------------------------------------------

Their Challenge this month :

Criteria:
*RED, BLACK and ONE OTHER COLOUR.
*Photo/s of them with their toys.

DS has just gotten hold of a Nintendo DS this week
( yes he's gone thru the lego, bike, Gameboy , PSP phases too .. in fact we so want to take pics of him on his Swave board but haven't gotten round to it ! )

The challenge was so timely -
& I don't think I've ever scrapped him with his toys very much come to think of it!
So while the DS player is still nice & new & a novelty ard here ,
I used some pics of him here , snapped by DD .

to create a shaped paper that I had to try something out here -
I used a Collage Press die cut &
finally opened up my bottle of Claudine Hellmuth's paint
which has been there for months now !

& yes ! there is a sister challenge blog called
of course!

Started by Susan Longman ,
who really is ink-credible !!!

Check out these links for some new inspo !

My Little Sketch Blook -June 14th sketch

This is what happens when I go thru 4 bags/kits of scrappy schtuff-
mixing up the new & old findings .

The newest being the FP Kraft Cut Die Cut & the oldest -
prolly the AC stitches rub ons I used on the photo.

I love using Liz's sketches -
for some reason they really do prompt me
to put together things I don't normally try to !
& that's all good !

Altering Patterned Paper

Inspired by Lucy Edson's tutorial over
a technique challenge blog

I altered my base DCWV Safari Chic cardstock
as follows :

Dry painting with dark brown acrylic paint,
stamping in brilliance rust red ink using a round Fontwerks stamp ,
stamping with off white acrylic paint using Glitz Designs polka dot roller doodles,
when everything was dry I also painted the edges of the cardstock with corduroy crackled paint.
And gold & ice stickles were added to some of the off white dots .

Thanks for the inspo , Lucy !

Webster's Pages June Card Challenge

Love Webster's Pages latest challenge -
to simply make a card!
Rather than let these lovely papers languish around
without a great idea for a layout yet, why not make a card ?
I can see it's easy to use up all the leftover WP A Sweet Life & Magical Wishes pps
if I can just focus on making more cards with them ( or a mini album...)

Also finally got round to taking part with CardPatterns weekly card sketch,
using their sketch 18 here.

WP Sweet Life pps, cardstock stickers, green trim,
Vintage Plastic Flower, Prima canvas tag

Teen In Paris

These days
It seems we should no longer be satisfied with using patterned papers as is -
admittedly I do like making shaped papers using other die cuts as templates
( i used a Bazzill scalloped die cut here as the template on the G45 pp )

Definitely a great idea towards making more unique layouts
& putting your own stamp
on your creations.

My supplies :

G45 Transatlantique pps, Primas , Dove of the East Shanghai vintage pp, 7 Gypsies Gaffer tape .
Sketch by Stacy Cohen .

Our church friend , 13 yr old Eliza's first trip to Paris, in June last year .

I tried to make a little scene ...

here,

but not really.

Check out what my friend , Carole Janson , Queen of 3D,
did with her Pink Paislee Layout Scene !!!

Now that's really taking 3D to the next level !

I'm only just figuring how to make things stand on a layout,
definitely not even exploring diorama concepts yet . lol.

Using my fave Rouge De Garance Adele line :les gourmandises pp & some Jolee's like dimensional stickers. & a bit of Seafoam Glimmer Mist. Sketch by Amanda Muirhead.

My photo( created at photofunia.com ) is that of a billboard so I thought it would be fun to make it stand here .
Otherwise , it is held down by 2 dimensional stickers on the left & right.

My journaling is prompted by the latest Creative therapy challenge :

Tell us about one thing you’d change about yourself (physical or otherwise).

2 more pics hidden & the
journaling reads :
Peaches and cream complexion !
Give me smooth face skin to change anytime!
Fortunately I can do that with my photos... anyday ...

I am not blessed with flawless skin , at the mo for sure .

Just having some fun , exploring ideas...

Postcard from Paris - G45/Dove of the East

I don't know why I don't create layouts like this one all the time .

Definitely an all time fave using a 52weeks52sketches by Julie Bonner !

I can't believe I created this using a sketch as inspo too .

Lots of layers on foam pads  going on here :

The base background paper is a Dove of the East Shanghai Vintage pp.
The circle shape uses a G45 Transatlantique paper.
The Eiffel Tower pp is from Dove of the East Paris Vintage collection as is the postcard layer .
Some cutouts out of Prima Flocked transparency were added to give some pop in black.

I absolutely loved doing these Paris themed layouts .

Which reminds me , I should also try some layouts with Paris papers
but not necessarily with Paris pics !
