The Crafter's Workshop - template fun

Took a little time today to sit down and use a coupla new templates by
The Crafter's Workshop on a layout.

These are the templates that I used here with a variety of mediums - Chalkboard Mists,
new Tim Holtz's Fall Ltd Ed distress inks and  black markers.

Tried out a little new Doodlebug twine, Prima fabric blossom and OA Sidewalks flags
with scraps of My Little Shoebox Playtime pps.

The new Prima masks are really fab too -
hmmm, how to have 'em all ?
Tools & mediums I do recommend anytime tho' . ;)

Pebbles Mix & Match DT creation

Here's my very first Pebbles
project for the Pebbles' blog.

"One of the first things I was so taken with Pebbles' patterned papers was the sheer quality and the  heavy weight of the papers . I was curious to see how a note card set would look with coordinating die cut petal envelope utilizing double sided patterned paper.  The square card base here is about 5x5 and this cami fold card would also be suitable to hold a gift card inside."

These petal self enclosing envies were diecut using an Accucut Die.
I then made coordinating cami-fold cards to go with the envelopes.

Here's a link to a camifold card tutorial for those interested .;)

Spooky Haunting !

We have a Japanese dollar chain store over here ( called Daiso )
and this year they have loads of adorable Halloween decor / costumes for sale
and when I saw these gauzy hats in different Halloween colors - I just had to bring one home with me to try an altered witch's hat . ;)
I diecut this Lantern tree using at least
4 different My Little Shoebox patterned papers
in the colors I wanted - some of them I inked in the color of choice
to make piecing this come together easier.

The little Ghouls were shadowed with extra black ones and then given a little textured Stickles treatment.
To make the little bats stand out more I also stickled them in royal blue.
Finally I adhered my entire Lantern tree on half a circular diecut from the My Little Shoebox Trick or Treat line.
The Spooky Haunting sentiment is from Cottage Cutz Haunted House border die.
Finally , when I was happy with my outcome I adhered my entire piece around the brim of the hat

I've had a fab time this year with all the Halloween projects thus far,
& I'm SOOOO thrilled that Cottage Cutz's Christmas release is available
for pre-order NOW !!! woohoo ! Gotta love them all !

A little more MME Lost & Found 2

I recently had a fabulous all day stamp crop session ,
with much thanks to crafty pal , Flora Tan , once again .
I brought along this MME Lost & Found card all assembled but not complete
without an appropriate sentiment.

Flora then pulled out a Tim Holtz stamp which she felt would be perfect for the space here. And I sure loved the effect. I also shadowed the text in grey .
I can say now that I have developed a new fascination for stamping after that great learning session ! ;)

My First Pebbles DT creation

Hey blogging friends , it's a beautiful Sunday morn over here
in Sunny little Singapore !

Hope you all are having an awesome , crafty weekend !

I wanted to do something different ,something I haven't attempted yet
for this first Pebbles DT intro creation.
I am very blessed  to know of a  generous Singapore crafter , Flora Tan,
who has kindly hosted me on at least 2 diecutting maniac cropping days !
& using Flora's awesome Accucut Grandmarke machine , we simply cut away
at boxes , albums, cards etc
I brought them home and work on them as opportunity arises.
This particular box uses the latest Pebbles Fresh Goods pps and chipboard
and cardstock sticker  embellies .
The ribbon is AC. ;)
It also doesnt require adhesive with its special top enclosure.

For the other gift box ,I created a shadow box scene and die cut a dressform to
hold the bracelet which is the gift.

MME Lost & Found 2 / Sept card sketch challenge

I would never have thought to buy the latest MME Lost & Found 2 Rosy collection 6x6 paper pad ( if not for consumer promos ...)
and when I cut into it - I surprised myself & quickly made 4 cards at one go .
Which is to say , this paper range practically scraps itself ! woohoo !

Made this one for the Sept  card sketch challenge over at MME's blog.
The cardstock sentiment is from the Stella Rose line
and I made a lace collar for my paper bloom . ;)

This was actually the 4th card I made in that afternoon and utilizes a lot of scrap pieces
which I cut into paper ribbon strips  . Too pleased that nothing was wasted.
I used the new EK Success Dahlia flower border punch to make my rolled flower here .
Pardon the imperfection here - it was just my first go ! ;)
I'll show the other cards next time.

"Never Forgotten. Forever Grateful " / Halloween Treat Box

It's Sept 11 : I just want to say that even here in Singapore,
we remember 9/11 . Our hearts and prayers are with America and all our American friends. Praying for  worldwide safety and appreciating the  resilience of America in moving forward with hope and confidence.
--------------------------------------------------------

Today , I want to share a quick treat box/bag project which can be mass produced in quick time  .
I have decorated both sides of my box to show the scale of some of Cottage Cutz' Halloween dies on this type of box .
My assembled Accucut box size is about 6x4" .
You may prefer to use inexpensive , store bought  ready made bag/boxes .

For this side of the box , I have used the 4x6 Haunted House Border die
and I diecut the design using self adhesive cardstock to spend less time applying adhesive.

I went to town with some stickles here - Black Distressed Stickles - for the rough texture , Blue and Green stickles too for added sparkle and color.

For the other side of my box , I used the Spooky Frame with Owl .

I love using patterned paper to die cut in the colors that I prefer for the project .
Then to add depth I simply ink in the colors I want - in this case I used Walnut Stain distress ink . A little Black distressed stickles and I'm done .

All the patterned papers used here
are from the latest Trick or Treat collection from My Little Shoebox.

September My Little Shoebox DT projects- Pretty Little Things

Love the unique color combo and pretty little girls on this adorable line .
And particularly pleased that tho' DD is not a girly girl this line with the blue , green and yellow combo is one of her faves and definitely worked out here for me .

The yellow scalloped circle die cut was cut using an Accucut die , thanks to the generosity of  fab crafty pal , Flora Tan , who has the Accucut Grande Mark machine.;)
And more rolled flower die cut fun here - these flowers are a very nice size - not too big and even gets down to small sizes for rosettes.

Being still a stamper who doesn't color images yet , I love the character cardstock stickers from this Pretty Little Things line , which make quick work of cards.

My Little Shoebox - Pretty Little Things -Punky Sprout Mixed Media Album

Punky Sprouts is the September Product Sponsor over at My Little Shoebox.
It was so much fun to create with this mixed media type album .
I have created here a birthday gift mini filled with quotes of beauty for a glam gal .

For the cover : I used distress stain to quickly cover the chipboard cover - in a streaky manner and decided to try misting over it to see how that would turn out .
This dried very quickly and I went on to use die cuts to embellish  .;)

Inside cover : Again , using distress stain I quickly covered the chipboard page and without much mess and when dry I went over it with Glimmer Glaze in Expresso.

BeYou(tiful) page : I discovered the easiest way to make brackets when you have none on your alpha sheet - just take an "O" and cut it in half ! ;)

I had a lot of fun with alcohol inks in neutral colors and gold mixative to quickly create a dramatic background here.

Page 3 : I whipped out my handy dandy 6x6 circle template and misted in 3 colors
to quickly create a background that is easy to use.
Some journaling tags cut up into ribbon strips is an easy way to work in some paper here.
So glad to have this mini to try out distress stains in a major way - again distress stain in broken china before painting on glimmer glaze is a very quick and NOT such a messy way to play .
I have also learnt that using diecuts and journalling tags on minis is a very quick way to
embellish a page.
The quotes used throughout this mini I found on the Pure Nourishment page on Facebook . ;)

I used a consistent page design throughout and that made quick work of putting the pages together - I just have to decide on the base colors that would work with the individual photos.
I didnt know what it means for glamor to meet whimsy - &  didnt know  how it would turn out
but I sure had a lot of fun with the mixed media part of it .

I just loved it that the colors of this Pretty Little Things line went so well with these pics .
