live, love , laugh

Here's my first go at using the new Pink Paislee Sweetness line.
I also challenged myself to incorporate some Hambly goodness in here.
I haven't used any Hambly for a looong time
and after this layout, I can safely say that Hambly's designs are absolutely classic & timeless.
So in a way , there isn't any great hurry to use it all up .;)

Looking at this layout , can you tell that my finishing point is the tree top here ?
It just felt wrong to leave a bare tree here ,
so I simply cut off the hearts of the Paper Hearts die cut ,
folded them in the middle and adhered them in different ways for a dimensional effect.

For the top row  of hearts, I folded the middle &
added Helmar's Quick Dry adhesive down the fold line and adhered them .
I never expected to fall in love with adhesive ( after Kokuyo's Dotliner )
but I so am now, with this one !!!!
ooooo & this is only my first project with it ....
okay, I'm sure I'll have more tales to tell from here on ....
I just received my Magistical Memories' DT box
& some Helmar's adhesive products were in it. I couldn't be happier !!!!!
( more about what's in my DT box another time !;)

The fun flag bunting is by Chelley Bean Designs .
So precisely made , I just can't believe it's handmade !!!
I had originally thought I would cut it up into 3 parts & layer it up ,
but didn't want to spoil any bit of it
and used it between trees for a change !
&I'm finally enjoying stamps that I've bought & hidden away.
& why not ? gotta love flourishes in every design !

Baby Girl , walk on

The baby girl in my layout today is my sweet 19 month old neighbour, Janelle.
There aren't any babies /toddlers left in the family for now
so it was a pleasure to "borrow" her.

I wanted to use a Magistical Memories Curly Twist chipboard
with the new Parisian Anthology line
and see how I could make it all work.

I first misted in ViVa Pink ,Electric Blue & Olive Vine glimmer mists
on the Divine Damask background. I also misted some Snow Angel which left
 a very pearlescent finish .
Some stamping in Versafine ink, with my fave stamp set at the mo ,
a little ruffled darlings ribbon strip in turquoise with a white flower darling.
And for the final finishing touch ,
I added a Parisian Anthology brooch brad to the center of
the Curly Twist chipboard and some flowing , crinkled ribbon behind it for a fun framed look .

Inspired for the Color Room Palette #29.

p/s : I've made available a few sets of handdyed crinkled ribbon for sale.
Because of the limited quantity ,
I'm making them available to local scrappers/crafters first.
Do check out my goodies for sale here.

The Scrappiest sketch 85 / Crinkled ribbons for local purchase

Taking time to use new stash that I haven't cut into yet ,
in this case Studio Calico's Elementary collection pack.
DD has lots of school pics to scrap this year, & I haven't gotten round many of them yet .

I kept the embellishing fairly simple ,
using a little Glimmer Glam for the painted green frame ,
a little Black Magic Glimmer Mist

DD & classmates posing with a fave teacher , who's now undergoing further studies in Beijing , doing her Doctorate in Chinese Language Education . She'll be back after 3 years . ;)
Interesting places our teachers are going these days for getting higher qualifications .

p/s : I've made available a few sets of handdyed crinkled ribbon for sale.
Because of the limited quantity , I'm making them available to local scrappers/crafters first.

Little Shop of Sketches #73

Time to play along with the latest, inspiring sketch
by Tanya at Little Shop of Sketches

A new fave layout using Webster's Pages "Wonderfall" line.
Created this with London , owner of Such Sweet Tierney ,in mind,
to congratulate her once again on her recent nuptials!

I  love putting together as much romantic details as I could here.
Lots of lush trim, bling, ,little rosebuds & bloomers...
I am loving glossy accents recently too and used it randomly here .

Today is a gift !

Finally cutting into my Snow Day collection prize by Crate Paper ,
that I won for one of their recent blog contests !
I had an impromptu photo shoot with DD on Sunday - new pics , new inspo !
Then  I wondered what new papers that I haven't used & would fit these pics .
I was bent on making mainly Christmas projects with the Snow Day line
( & I haven't started yet ! )
that I didn't think of doing a layout first.
Nevertheless , inspired by scrappy friends , such as Ms Piradee in this case-
who's excellent at putting a twist to her patterned papers use in layouts -
I attempted a non-themed layout with a Christmas line
and am quite happy with the result !

Still loving the naked chippie look , this time I tried out a little stamping with new Prima floral stamps - used a floral center on the Magistical Memories' Mod Flower here.

On this smaller Mod Flower , I tried out a busier floral design ( Prima stamp )
with a fabric brad center to finish it .
Lots of Such Sweet Tierney buttons here together
with the different types of Snow Day embellies I received.

Layout design inspired by Michelle Fowler's sketch here.

ICS #88

My take on ICS#88 this week
with the new SEI Kris Kringle 6x6 paper pad,
MM Rub on Sentiment on a Martha Stewart die cut label,
MM Noel chipboard buttons behind the sentiment.

I love all the different collections available for Christmas this year
( and last year , and the year before ! lol)
but I mostly bought papers rather than embellishments.
Still early days yet with my Christmas projects being created.

Check out the sketch & all the different DT examples here this week .

Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology line

It's taken me a while to use this Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology line ,
just waiting for inspiration to strike .
But when in doubt , just do it i say !

The problem with a "blank canvas" so to speak with these House of 3 designed papers
is what mediums, colors etc to use on them - or to even use them as is .
I used my photo here as my guide
and decided to take the plunge
with my newfound Luminarte radiant rain shimmering mists -
since I only have 3 of them .
For the background pp - Fancy Filigree , I used Teal Zircon as the main color
with some Butternut around the sides.
The smaller pp ( Divine Damask ) a top that background paper was misted with Ginger Peach .

The colors are simply vivid & truly shimmery , if I can convince you with this pic ! lol .

Some fun new techniques I tried out here - stamping along the border of my pp  with the Parisian Anthology clear stamp set. Can I just say this is such an affordable stamp set - you can combine images in unlimited ways & probably not tire of it - & I thought it was such a small set at first !

I also combined misting with inking with distress inks on the Divine Damask paper here -
using Walnut Stain around the edges
and Broken China ( misted with water after inking )  in the title area .

I didn't know how my "blank canvas" would turn out at the start
& that's certainly a great part of the fun of using this line for me .

My Pink Paislee Sweetness collection pack,
(thanks to Scrapoholics - I didn't think I would get any bit of this line readily in tiny Singapore .;)
 was dropped at my doorstep
while I was out at the LSS this morn -
no new papers that I wanted to get today - so I just might cut into that next ! ;)

Other supplies : Parisian Anthology Tickets ,
Fancy Pants Glitter Cut ,
Webster's Pages Sparklers & trims,alphas,
MS Monarch butterfly with vellum

Magistical Memories' Oct Guest Design Team sketch

I realised I have a piece of
Magistical Memories' mini film strip
and wanted to see how it would work out
with October's sketch .

Still very happy to be working with the
Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue line -
I cut out all the patterns on the Foo on Film paper
and re-pieced them together ,
using the sketch as inspo.

It feels like I haven't misted on a layout for a loooong time
so I had to try out something new here -
I used a new found brand of mist  - by Luminarte -
their pearl mists have arrived before  Ranger's Pearl ones
& this is the only color I have on hand - a pearl Lilac.
I think it has the most shimmer amongst all the brands available currently .
I used it with a new Prima mask .
I am loving the MS Monarch butterfly punch with vellum here -
it's also a good way to use up leftover vellum from a previous project -
& we're all such frugal scrappers , rite , we just can't throw out leftovers.

The naked chipboard trend is so in right now
and I just had to try it out here -
I do like the original color of the chippie so that helps  ! .
I stamped an Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday sentiment
here in Brilliance Black ink ,
before backing the film strip with the petite size Double Feature pp.

Plenty of time still for you to take part &
have a shot at being our Guest Designer in December
LOTS of fun chipboard goodies to play with throughout your month as designer!!

You're special ! Webster's Pages Sweet Season

So far I've been making it a point to cut into
my new Webster's Pages petite paper pads -
the only line I haven't used yet is WonderFall.

Love the colors in the Sweet Season papers ,
I felt the patterns are versatile enough
that I can use it  for non-seasonal purposes too.

My supplies :
WP Sweet Season 6x6 papers  & trim,
SRM Sticker Sentiments - Thinking of You,
assorted florals from Bangkok.;)

Tip : I cut the broad peach WP lace trim into 2 halves
& used it as borders for the sentiment block.

Little Shop of Sketches #72

The latest sketch is up & running this week

I had a go at using some of the Crate Paper Restoration line ,
together with some Chelley Bean Designs' denim lollipop flowers,
MR kraft doilies,Prima lace & lots of little flowers all over.:)

Head on over here to check out all the DT inspo !

p/s : I went to have a lookie at what's new this week at our LSS today
& all the new Pink Paislee Sweetness pps ( save for one particular pattern )
were sold out within a day of release !
I think the other line that went fast was the Prima Jack & Jill.
So I guess I will patiently wait for BG Curio now -
having "saved" on not getting the Pink Paislee Sweetness !

Altered Corkboard - new Webster's Pages HollyWood Vogue

2 weeks ago I was handed a dollarstore corkboard
and with it , a request to create a gift out of it .
I also had only 2 hours to complete it  ,
for our glamour gal featured here.:)

Fortunately, the latest Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue
had landed on our sunny shores and I immediately thought of using it
for this fun little gift project.

After deciding on the background paper to use ,
I fussy cut the coordinating vellum paper of this line &
layered it unto of the background paper on the top right corner
and bottom left of the board.

The floral film strip from the Foo on Film pp
and the blue green backgrd pp called Stardom
provided the right details & color contrast for this
quick project.

Coordinating bloomers & new Prima pearl swirls that I had on hand
helped provide a unique finishing touch that I was looking for.;)
