Creative Scrappers Sketch 110

With dear Jennifer on the DT of Creative Scrappers now , 

it's only a matter of time I'd join in some of their fun ,

playing along with some of their sketches.

Lots of inspiring DT creations with this week's sketch -

& here's my take using up some AC Dear Lizzy for a change. 

I finally got round to die cutting some of AC's glittered cardstock here -

love how much glitter there is on the cardstock & so compacted ! 

Used up some of the Dear Lizzy fabric paper too . 

& for the title - to tone down the original color of the fabric thickers I sprayed on 

some Tattered Leather on 'em .;) 

DD and friends had a fabulous time  recently

checking out the new Universal Studios theme park 

that opened here in Mar this year.

My take here featuring Chelley Bean Designs' fabric buttons with owls ,

with MME's So Sophie diecut & pp as the base for the design.

Little Shop of Sketches - sketch 65

The latest sketch is up 

over at the Little Shop of Sketches 

with a multi photo sketch . 

I knew I could put some of my latest nature pics to use here 

and was too lazy to go through my entire stash to pick out the 

papers to go with these photos. 

So I brought along my printed out pics to our LSS 

and the first paper line that jumped out at me 

was much to my surprise 

Cosmo Cricket's Delovely ! 

So I brought home a coupla of pps

 ( stuck to my philosophy of not buying the entire line if I can help it ! )

and quickly put together this layout in no time . ;) 

These pics were taken within 5 mins by foot around my neighbourhood,

after the rain, late one afternoon .

Our friend , Gen, here enjoying the late autumn scene in Tokyo last year. 

I used a mix of new MM Panaroma pps with last year's Great Escape

 & older Passport embellies . 

These papers together with the pic simply called out to be inked & distressed. 

& I couldnt resist misting on the background to add more depth of color.

compared to yesterday's torrential downpour  

that caused floods & lots of fallen trees all over our tiny island !

Some CHA Summer arrivals are already upon us here -

I got hold of the new star pins ( used here) by Maya Rd ,

some new Prima pearl swirls with  roses , 

BG Olivia & Oliver are here too - 

but I'm sitting those out for now 

until I'm bored with my newest stash .

( & of course , we know how long that could last !)

TCR#12- When I look through the lens...

i see life . 

I'm finally using these Ali Edwards' Life in pictures stamps - 

thanks to getting hold of some new Studio Calico Documentary pps 

to go with the stamps.

All the other papers are a mix

 from Crate Paper's Prudence & Lemon Grass lines.

These retro camera images cut out & pop dotted 

are just the perfect embellies here .:)

I'm pretty sure my Swedish scrappy pal , Metal_Minish , 

will highly approve of this hairstyle ! ;)

Just kidding ! It's simply the backlight effect on 

DD's not completely jet black hair - 

she does always have a lot of brown in her hair since young .

Now DS has pretty much black hair . No doubt about it ! 

You betcha most peeps don't think they are sibs when they're seen together ! lol 

Too happy to have some new hairdo captures

 of the kidlets before they start school again next week !

DD gets mistaken to be a Japanese alot ! 

(Some people think I'm Japanese looking too - not sure why at all ?!! )

although amongst younger people they think she's Korean 

( lots of young people here these days love Korean pop music, dramas 

& they also learn the language - used to be that way with all things Japanese )

Using just a few of my favorite things at the mo 

for this week's Sketch 70 for the Scrappiest.

More Bo Bunny Peacock Lane & Sunkissed papers 

with 7 Gypsies' Avignon masking tape .

These polka dotted buttons are old stash which I happened to 

stumble on while rummaging through my boxes of embellies for this layout.

Some inspiration from dear Kim ,

her use of beads for titles, banners & "naked" chippies are all here ...;)

I used a combo of new JB Playdate papers with a Webster's Pages 

Lullaby Lane pp to capture at least 3 colors of this latest palette. 

Layout design inspired by a sketch by Julie Bonner . 

The banners were cut from FP's Wishful Thinking pp ,

bought only for the banner print .

I decided to try out some layers of banners for a change here

and that inspired me to put the title in the banner too .;)

The Scrappiest layout sketch 69

This week for the Scrappiest I cut into the 

latest Fancy Pants - Like Father , Like Son line 

 for an easy masculine layout.

I used at least 5 different papers here. 

Such Sweet Tierney buttons are always my first go to embellies 

on a boy layout . 

Some Picket Fence crackled paint brushed on for a border here ,

Some Basic Grey Basics stickers & brown twine 

went well with these fab masculine pps .

Such an inspiring & original sketch by Liz this week ! 

What to do with the many scalloped circle die cuts that we have ? 

There was a time I intentionally bought a whole bunch by My Little Shoebox 

and had ideas of cutting them up but never did .

So this is my first go doing it ! 

I used a sequence of my DD & friends 

on their first time out kite flying together

 at a rather iconic landmark in our city. 

We have such a panaromic view of our new city skyline here.
