Cuttlebug Challenge 1

This week's challenge is a simple one, just use 3 different embossing folders.

Wow ! Simple is using 3 folders ! I have never thought of using them in 3 s ! phew !

But check out what the fab DT did with this challenge !

My mind doesnt work very fast around certain techniques !-

so even though I love my CB loads I decided to take a simple approach

& just use 3 different scraps of paper , emboss & use'them as accents .

So I have CB embossed scraps of paper :

1. a butterfly punch out - Textile

2. A Bazzill with an Edge - Swiss Dots

3. Vellum - Spots & Dots

Used : Pink Paislee 8x8 paper pad, Luxe Sheer Ribbon , CI ribbon ,

WCMD - Christine's Challenge 2

Create a card using a punch or die cutting machine. You can choose any theme and any type of shape for the punch or die...just make sure you used one! :-D

Made this card using one of Christine's great sketches

& using new Collage Press Jackson Lodge , Prima Essentials 5

& a little butterfly punch which had been stickled a little .

Alpha stickers were outlined with a blue Uniball Signo Metallic pen .

It's time to use up those pens too !

Using Core'Dinations Vintage Cs , SR Sonoma Scrap strip , AC Glitter Thickers , Cuttlebug Embossing - Textile .

& I can now tie a reasonable bow on a card finally !!!

So I now see the light at the end of the tunnel for my ribbon stash -

not that I have too much yet ! lol.

WCMD - CMK card challenge #2

Using New Heidi Swapp Mood Lighting pp , Prima hydrangeas , spangled tulle , ATB Paper Tagger & epoxy charm , satin trim, bling.

When I realised that Bazzill tulle actually cost too much ( & I didnt like their too fine texture frankly ) I looked into the tulle section of the fabric aisles of our largest craft store here .

& lo & behold ! wedding tulle galore ! So I am slowly adding to my collection ! lol '

For the same amount that I would have spent on the Bazzill tulle by the yard here ,

I can get 3-4 times tulle for the same $ at the craft store & way more fun choices!

& I think I want to use way more satin than I used to before ! lol

we shall see !

I'm also disappointed with the Maya Road mini pom pom trims - not as fun IRL as I was psyched to believe via CHA Summer pics considering its price as well ! lol . I think their velvet blossoms could be better value for $ but they haven't landed here yet sadly !

World Card Making Day - Sahweet time !!!

October 4th ! World Card Making Day !

No time for me to scooter around the many challenges this weekend !
Maybe I will get some cardmaking time early in the new week ahead.

Sharing here my very first popsicle card evah which I made following Carla's instructions over at Lil Scrappers .

It's not at all intimidating to try in terms of the shape & oh so fun ! the results !
I used scalloped scissors for the bite in this case !

Look - I have wings ! lol !

Scrapping Outback's Chipboard School wk 7

The last lesson at SO's Chipboard School this week !

Now I know that I've been all along a babe in the woods where Vintage Style's concerned ! lol

This vintage layout - a rather simple one to me - is possibly the most vintage one I've ever attempted todate ! lol !

finally using some Graphic 45 papers + a little leftover Webster's Pages & a little of my inadequate supply of vintage type embellies by Rebecca Sower , EK success .

I really could have done more but by Josh that would take me days to finish no doubt ! lol if I even attempt to do some of the stuff Ingvild puts into her layouts ! I cannot even begin to scraplift her ! truely a blue blooded original she is ! I just love it that each & every creation of hers continues to surprise you ( & usually leave you gasping at her ingenuity !

oooo ! I could go on & on forver about her work ! lol .... )

Webster's Pages Sept Heritage Photo challenge

Inspired by Anabelle's sample over at Webster's ,
I used the Secret Garden pp & it is backed by Grace .Studio pic of my MIL at 17 in a dress she made herself.
Other goodies : Rusty Pickle Princess Bride trim ( with thanks to Christine ! ) , Hambly Kraft stickers, Kaiser Rhinestones , Fancy Pants Glitter Cut Flourishes , Stickles.

Pics of my DD at nearly 2 mths old ! wow ! was it a looong time ago !

practically qualifies for retro now ! lol!

The great part about waiting to scrap certain pics is that the right papers will always come along . Eventually.

& with those Prima Say It in Studs Bees, I decided to a layout on 

the meaning behind "Deborah " - basically meaning "bee" - hmmm !

Hidden journaling has been tagged by the handy dandy ATB paper tagger

so it swings out from under the photo.

I also broke out almost all the new Primas I got hold of last week & added a little of everything. As well as to hide the color of the flowers on the paper 

which didn't quite agree with the layout .

Inspite of my best intentions to avoid anything Prima in bigger packaging ,I still ended up with one can of Festive whites - which not only has a mix of cream , pale yellow & peach flowers but embossed & glittered shapes - likes birds, wedding dresses , chandeliers ! etc.

Otherwise I mostly stayed with the small packs of Primas .

( it was hard to say Not to buy Primas 'cos of the better than usual retail discount ! duh ! )

& o ! You will love the new packaging of the little packs of Primas - even the kraft colored backing can be used as a journaling spot or whatever . I missed using it  that here !

Another great lesson over at the Bad Girls' Top Designer 2008 on " Less is more " .

Alas the Robin's Nest Glittered CS which I've hoarded only from earlier this year - half of the glitter seems to have drop off ! lol

I'm happy having tried out some new things here - using that glittered background , Primas in yet another way ( with my handy dandy ATB paper tagger ! lol ! ) , ribbons for photo corners.

Journaling : I hope you will always look out & be there for each other .
