Little Shop of Sketches - sketch 50

These "lost" memories of an aunt & uncle
from more than 50 years ago
( they are now in their 70s)
uncovered some sweet love notes
that they had written to each other on the back of their pics.

I was inspired to do a vintage type layout to try to
re-capture their sweet , youthful romantic days .
The photos are reproductions of the originals
hence some pinkish , violet tones .

I tried out some fabric swatches ( compliments of Lucy Edson ! :) )
-which I received as a challenge prize over at AMM ! -
together with some Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris & Nature's Storybook.
I also misted & masked unto the background pp
to add more shine & color to the overall design.

Rock Candy crackle paint is all the rage over here with Singapore scrappers these days .
Couldn't resist using some here .

Check out this week's sketch here

Do play along with our sketch, put it in the gallery and a winner will be picked at the end of the month.

52sketches52weeks #39

Slowly de-hoarding Webster's Pages
Postcards from Paris
& Nature's Storybook.
The squares were cut from
the collection pack's packaging .
Just love the smaller print of the lovely patterns sometimes .

Some misting ,& lots of stickling here .
otherwise I kept it simple , basically.

The Scrappiest layout sketch 32

Some of my favourite papers post CHA Summer
aren't at all what I predicted before CHA was over .
is one line I can see myself using over & over again .
ie if I allow myself to ...

Played with the new Tim Holtz Rock Candy stickles on the Thickers here
for a sandy/sugar coated texture
( you can click & see the larger image )

& Brought out some long forgotten crackled paint in corduroy & faded jeans .
I am also loving the combi of misting first , then masking using distress ink these days ..

Check out the latest Scrappiest sketch here,
and see what the awesome designers did -

this week's sketch is
a really fun one with suggestions for lots of circular elements .
I used Such Sweet Tierney buttons for some of my circles .

Complete the sketch and email your LOs to thescrappiest@frontiernet.net. Be sure to put Sketch 32 in the subject line.Who knows, You could win that super cute kit from the Scrap Attack.

ICS #35

Lucky us for not having to wait very long for the famous
Martha Stewart loopy punch to land on our sunny shores .

I tested the border punch out on the first piece of scrap I came across

& then turned to ICS #35 to see if I could do anything with it easily.
Fortunately the sketch was perfect to put these scraps to use.

Sentiment is a sticker from the new Crate Paper Bliss collection.

The Scrappiest layout sketch 31

This is such a rare kind of layout for me
that everything is from a different manu !
- but I think it was necessary to make the photo work here with this week's sketch.
Check out what the rest of the DT did with the sketch !
Lots of ideas how to incorporate trees into a layout !

Just love this cheeky pic of one of our littlest dudes in the fam -
The CC Boyfriend title was just perfect for me to use here .
It really is harder to embellish boy layouts sometimes.
I was glad to put some
Bella Blvd , MLSB circular die cut, SR Garden Grove,
Nikki Sivils' Sweet as Cherry Pie
& that fab stitched fabric Prima tree to work together here.

If you complete the sketch , email your LOs to thescrappiest@frontiernet.net.
Be sure to put Sketch 31 in the subject line.
You just might be the lucky winner of a super cute kit from the Scrap Attack.

The Pink Ninjas - Prompt 14 - Secrets

The latest prompt over at the PinkNinjas -
Let us in on your secrets!~we all have them!
-----------------------------

Well , nothing earth shattering here ,
just a philosophical look.

For attractive lips,
speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

"Beauty Secrets," by Sam Levenson

I used Diana's latest Sketchy Thurday .

These new Prima Tropical Paradise papers are like none other -
in terms of the colors and patterns !
So very versatile & easy to use .

I also incorporated some Prima Fave Product Picks -

Little Shop of Sketches - sketch 46

Another fabulous sketch for inspo
from the Little Shop of Sketches
Check it out here

I really love using this JB Town Square line
and am getting a lot out of it .
Love the tiny circle alphas too .
The journaling blocks are from the Red Memo Book

I also bravely attempted some stamping in Brilliance Metallic inks
unto the journaling blocks for a change .
Really loved how this multi photo layout turned out.

join in the fun & put your take of the sketch on your blog or gallery
and let us know your link.
