V day card sample for my Card Challenge

I made this card today combined with Bety's Valentine's Day card recipe challenge !

Make a card containing some of my favorite things:at least 1 Heart,ribbon,chipboard, at least one flower,glitter,buttons.

Supplies : Luxe Design pp & Monogram , MM Shimmer Heart chipboard, KI MEmories Soft rubber button charm, May Arts ribbon ,AC felt flower

My first ever card challenge will end Weds , Feb 6th ,

which will also be our Chinese New Year Eve here .

So plenty of time to join in .

Most Chinese families usually gather together to have a reunion dinner on that day !

The next few days where the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rat begins will be a long party for many families where pigging out on homemade delicacies , great home cooked New Year meals with special dishes cooked once a year , drinking , gambling , playing cards will be the norm !

Surprising Weds - A Card Challenge by Me !

Inspired by my Australian blogging pal Susan who created a card for the PapertakeWeekly Heart's Desire Challenge & mistakenly thought it was a challenge set by me ,

I decided to create my very own & FIRST card challenge !

First of all in appreciation of all the card / layout challenges out there in blogging land , I must say Thank You so much everyone for keeping on creating new dares / ideas to tickle our papercrafting fancy !

I had a tonne of fun checking out new challenges this past week & finding new blogs to be inspired by !

As such my first ever card challenge is to create

either a Thank You card including the following embellishments -

flowers & brads but not of the usual kind that you would reach out for-

try something different & feel free to use other kinds of embellies too !

or

Create any kind of card with shades of Black, Pink & White .

No limitation on card size or shape !

There you have it ! I trust you will enjoy having a go at it !

For my card sample above , I used fabric Prima flowers with a velvet like quality & large word brads by ATB ( yes not the usual kind for me ! ) , Papers by Prima Marketing & DCWV's All Dressed Up 4x6" paper pad.

WEEK 4 CHALLENGE IS...Tall/Skinny OR Short/Wide - That's right step out of your comfort zone and make a DL sized card. I have to confess to hardly ever making this size as it seems a little hard to get the proportions right but hey, I have made two and would love you to COPY ME!!

I'd(Kathy ) like you to make a card which has a hidden component of some sort.The hidden part could be a tag, a concealed photo, message or something along those lines, maybe a pull-out or pop-up.Anything goes as long as there's something extra for the recipient to find on your card that's not immediately visible when they open the envelope.The Design Team have made some fab cards to help get you thinking - but you'll have to visit their personal blogs to see the hidden extra!

Had lots of fun with this card using SEI Ally Playground papers , using up scraps of paper & ribbon , AC thickers Chipboard , Prima Flower , Happy Hammer flower brad .

I think I will challenge myself as well to look for new paparcrafting challenges online.

I(Jane ) want you to create not just one but TWO cards ! But wait........there's more ! I want both cards to contain the same embellishments and papers, ribbons etc- but arranged in a different way for a different occasion....the only thing being different is the wording....I'll let you have different wording ! (How nice of me eh?) I'm well aware this is a really hard challenge, and that I have thrown everyone into 2008 off the deep end....but go on- give it a go - I DARE YOU !
