Misting Tutorial with a paper doily

Here's how to have some fun
with a few bottles of Spray Ink, Glimmer Mists & a paper doily !

I'm always terrified of larger circular elements on a layout
so using a paper lace doily as a mask with Glimmer Mist
just eases me right into it ! ;-)

These colors were chosen to pick out the colors in my Lily Bee background pp & photos

This is the "backside " of a doily where I've used Candy Cane Red GM on other occasions.
You can definitely reuse a paper doily many times !

I start with my darkest color first and work my way up

We are using 3 shades of brown here today to get some depth & variation of the same color

Seafoam seems to match the leaves on this background paper

Khaki is very light so I had to give a few more sprays than the other colors .
But it really is all up to you !

I don't usually use a kitchen towel to blend colors or remove the little dots after misting
but you certainly can if you like

I needed at least 3 quarters of the lace doily pattern to show up
& this is the final result .
My spritzing was all quite random really .

Anything you have on hand can be a mask -
try geometric shapes - rectangles , squares ,strips of paper
chipboard shapes , punched paper strips etc
& you only need just one bottle of Mist to get going
& add some Masking oomph to any project !

This is beautiful Pearl! I definitely have to get me some of these mists, but my shop doesn't carry them *aaargh*, they didn't sell well in Belgium ... hard to imagine huh! And with shipping costs being what they are, I guess they'll remain on my wish list a little longer ...
