It is one of those days ...to put on the Glitz ! ;)

Today I just needed some retail therapy ,
followed by some intensive creative therapy .
& New Glitz Design came easily to the rescue !

We simply have too much by way of new arrivals these past weeks ,
so it's so easy to indulge I'm afraid.

Bought up some Glitz Design Love Games pps
 ( & Laced With Grace & Afternoon Muse )

I thought the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Ephemera pack
would go well with some of the Glitz Design pps,
as well as EP's For the Record cardstock stickers.
Alaskan Salmon goes well on many of my backgrounds I have to say (again!)

more later !

Focus

Just a quick and simple layout I created with some new Teresa Collins Sports edition II papers.
Mixed media pages seems to be the rage to me this year -
and I finally took the time to use more of Gesso
  on the kraft background here.
I spritzed Autumn Nights GM all around the edges of the cardstock
and love the effect of the midnight blue shimmer on kraft.

Other supplies : Jenni Bowlin Flag Banner stickers, Studio Calico cardstock alphas, Maya Rd star pin , kraft journaling ticker, bingo game piecee.

Document Everyday Life / Pray for Japan

Inspired today to use up more Bo Bunny Ad Lib pps with Magistical Memories'
Solid Bubble Loop chipboard set.

I layered the smallest sized Bubble Loop over the largest piece for yet another fun chipboard sun take.

Used up some Such Sweet Tierney Buttons and journaling spots by Tanya Leigh.
I am still loving the new TA Alaskan Salmon Chalkboard mist - used it on the smallest Bubble Loop
and a little on the die cut background behind the photo.

& while our collective thoughts and hearts must still be with Japan right now ,
here's a link on Facebook where you can go & share some of your thoughts or feelings

The spirit & resilience of the Japanese people right now is definitely more than inspiring -

From Twitter ( translated by Jun Shiomitsu )

献血の列
日本は強いです!大阪難波の献血施設は被災地の方の為に超満員の順番待ちでした。私欲の無い列を初めて見ました。感動しました。被災地の方々、全国でその辛さを受け止めます。諦めずに頑張って下さい!
Blood donations
Japan is strong!  At Osaka I saw a LONG line of people waiting to give blood at the blood donation center.  This is the first time I have seen such a queue of selfless people waiting patiently in line just to give.  It was a moving sight!  To everyone in the hard-hit areas, we your countrymen accept your suffering as our own and we share in your grief.  Do not give up!  Stay strong!

At a congested downtown intersection …
Cars were moving at the rate of maybe one every green light, but everyone was letting each other go first with a warm look and a smile.  At a complicated intersection, the traffic was at a complete standstill for 5 minutes, but I listened for 10 minutes and didn’t hear a single beep or honk except for an occasional one thanking someone for giving way.  It was a terrifying day, but scenes like this warmed me and made me love my country even more.

バス停で・・・
バスが全然来ない中、@saiso が、バス停の前にある薬局でカイロを買ってきて、並んで待ってる人みんなに配った!
Bus stop mini episode:
It was freezing and bus was taking ages to arrive.  “@saiso” left the queue to run to a nearby pharmacy.  He bought heating pads and gave one to everyone in the queue!

Three days after the tsunami, three people were rescued from their attic. Upon being asked to comment, the elderly man smiles and says,

"We're fine! I've experienced the Chile tsunami too so I'm fine! LET'S START REBUILDING!"

Smitten with ...

Sassafras Lass' latest releases - Sweetly Smitten - being one of them .

The background pps of this line just scrap themselves .
I simply used some of my current fave things
with the wonderfully detailed background paper.

And everything came together quickly .
Definitely the perfect line on hand to scrap this sweet couple's retreat pics at their recent getaway .

Next, I'll see if I can cut into Ellie's Tale soon .

A Quick layout with Prima

I couldn't wait  to try out a new 8x8 mask by Prima
and had a  quick go with this layout.
Surprisingly,  I liked some of the new Prima Sweet Fairy pps
more than the other lines at first go -
( although I would get others as need arises ) .

Love the new crystal swirls with fimo flowers
& the Donna Downey sculpture resin flowers . :)

TCR#44

Here 's this week's latest color palette with a new twist !

The  Whitewashed challenge will be a chance to explore colours in our creating. It will always include white, and three other monochromatic colours.
To get the full experience exploring monochromatic colours with this palette, we suggest you try and create with the palette colours only. Not adding the usually allowed neutral colours.
This will be required with each "WHITEWASHED" palette released.

I started with the new WP Spring Market Gardener's Seeds pp for the background,
and built up the layout from there - using this week's inspirational sketch as well.
I pulled out as many white & green embellies in the shade of this week's palette
and in no time was able to finish off my first monochromatic layout of the year . lol !

Tried out some Vanilla Smooch Spritz on the dark green background .
Had a problem with the spray nozzle
and had to abandon the use of the Vanilla spritz after a coupla sprays.
I was surprised by the number of green flowers I actually had in my stash .
& only too happy to put them to good use here.
Well,  this is my last creation as RDA over at the Color Room.
We are into Day 2 of celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year here in Sunny Singapore -
a time of feasting & merry making - especially for the young & youth .
Hence the MIA around the blog here these past coupla days .
Here's wishing all Chinese blogging friends all over the world
a hippity, hoppity good time this Lunar New Year !

TCR#43

Here's the last Shimmerz color paint palette up & running over at the Color Room this week.
Unique color combos like this always helps me dig into my fave Rouge De Garance stash
for an urbane chic vibe.

Some leftover Hambly overlay I thought would add on to the edgy vibe here , also unearthed a long forgotten
Pink Paislee Petal ( last one I have ) amongst my RDG stash.

Some of the latest Such Sweet Tierney Buttons ( from the Baby & Moustache mix ! ) -
always my go to embellies for fun circular elements - don't know how I might survive without them now.
& using up every drop of my white Liquid Applique turned off white with age !
A whole tube goes a mighty long way this Liquid Applique -
guess I might buy it back when I'm done with my first ever tube.
My sweet 16 niece here , Jo with a friend at a recent openhouse checking out the next steps of her educational future. Exciting times ahead for her, 16 going on 17 !

Me Likey

....Using up stash ( nope , not to make way for the new - doesn't make a dent at all ! ) ,
doing sketch challenges - still my top fave, bright colors, just playing.
My take here for Sketch 101 for the Scrappiest's
week long celebration of reaching their 100th sketch !
Congrats , Liz & team ! way to go !

I've used mainly Sassafras Lass' Me Likey line here with a little Anthem , and then embellished with lots of cardstock stickers from their various lines. See if you can name 'em all .... teehee...

My nieces here growing up so fast & pretty too !
always great subjects to scrap with their fun poses for the cam . ;)

over at the Jan Sketch Challenge here

Getting a hang of making the white crepe paper flowers too .;)

TCR#42 - I promise

Here is this week's Color Palette at the Color Room , once again inspired by colors of Shimmerz products .
There is also a challenge extension - to scraplift a fave Color Room designer or member .
Lots & lots of wonderful artistes to be inspired by at the Color Room-
I picked an amazing Brazilian artiste -
Solange Marque - check out her gallery here
Definitely no easy task at all emulating Solange's style but I certainly know who to turn to again & again to get a push on artistic boundaries !
I do Love her bold use of color, mediums & amazing textures .
I did use a coupla of mediums here - glimmer mists , distress inks,
glimmer glam chandelier - for some soft glitter ,
alcohol ink on the acetate scroll label
at the corner of the photo ,splatters of Shimmerz Pearlz Blue by You .

I modpodged in some cotton gauze for some texture with a difference and that blended with some glimmer mists in the background in the process .

Much thanks to Solange, for her wonderful inspiration !

Be Happy Now

Happy Midweek, blogging friends !
& a happy , sunny layout to share today !

Here's one layout where I truly shopped within my own stash -
and just too pleased to use up new & older lines/brands together .
There's Glitz Design Scarlett pps, GCD Studios's Artsy Urban ( a scrap piece actually) ,
BG Doily from the Junebug line, Webster's Pages WonderFall cardstock stickers,
Glimmer mist - Black Magic,
Lily Bee rub on for the title ,
Magistical Memories' Lil Flower chipboard.
Definitely trying to go down this route of mixing it up this year .
( who's tired of that familiar mantra now ? -
we simply have too much !!!)

Did you catch last nite's House of 3 Live show  ?
you would have caught sneaks of what Prima , TA & House of 3 have in store
for us, probably from Feb onwards .
I sure am lauding their "Color Connections" move -
& foresee where my stash money's gonna be headed majorly ! ;)
check out a little report here
