TCR#45 - Sweet Baby card

A new palette up & running over at the Color Room today -
& with a new inspiring card sketch , new products on hand,
it wasn't too hard to create .
I didn't get a whole load of the new Prima Sweet Fairy papers
- just those that appealed to me immediately .
( just check out the range in the pic below !!)
source :

Something tells me I just might be back for more Prima papers
but let me get through cutting more into the 15 I just brought home ! lol .

TCR#44

Here 's this week's latest color palette with a new twist !

The  Whitewashed challenge will be a chance to explore colours in our creating. It will always include white, and three other monochromatic colours.
To get the full experience exploring monochromatic colours with this palette, we suggest you try and create with the palette colours only. Not adding the usually allowed neutral colours.
This will be required with each "WHITEWASHED" palette released.

I started with the new WP Spring Market Gardener's Seeds pp for the background,
and built up the layout from there - using this week's inspirational sketch as well.
I pulled out as many white & green embellies in the shade of this week's palette
and in no time was able to finish off my first monochromatic layout of the year . lol !

Tried out some Vanilla Smooch Spritz on the dark green background .
Had a problem with the spray nozzle
and had to abandon the use of the Vanilla spritz after a coupla sprays.
I was surprised by the number of green flowers I actually had in my stash .
& only too happy to put them to good use here.
Well,  this is my last creation as RDA over at the Color Room.
We are into Day 2 of celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year here in Sunny Singapore -
a time of feasting & merry making - especially for the young & youth .
Hence the MIA around the blog here these past coupla days .
Here's wishing all Chinese blogging friends all over the world
a hippity, hoppity good time this Lunar New Year !

TCR#42 - I promise

Here is this week's Color Palette at the Color Room , once again inspired by colors of Shimmerz products .
There is also a challenge extension - to scraplift a fave Color Room designer or member .
Lots & lots of wonderful artistes to be inspired by at the Color Room-
I picked an amazing Brazilian artiste -
Solange Marque - check out her gallery here
Definitely no easy task at all emulating Solange's style but I certainly know who to turn to again & again to get a push on artistic boundaries !
I do Love her bold use of color, mediums & amazing textures .
I did use a coupla of mediums here - glimmer mists , distress inks,
glimmer glam chandelier - for some soft glitter ,
alcohol ink on the acetate scroll label
at the corner of the photo ,splatters of Shimmerz Pearlz Blue by You .

I modpodged in some cotton gauze for some texture with a difference and that blended with some glimmer mists in the background in the process .

Much thanks to Solange, for her wonderful inspiration !

TCR#41

I found time today to make a card inspired by the palette for TCR#41
when my DT mail from Such Sweet Tierney arrived.

There were some adorable Baby button sets this time .

I have hoarded some cute baby lines and embellies to make cards or albums etc
it's about time to use some up ! ;)
For some reason , I was shy of using much yellow on this card or my layout below .
I stuck to a safer cream or just a litle hint of yellow.

Card design was inspired by CRC#40 by Lydell Quinn at the Color Room

Supplies : Making Memories' Pitter Patter line , felt dimensional sticker, Q&Co pearls , glossy accent.

& now back to the layout that I created for yesterday's reveal :

On this day , I brought Ms Piradee & Tanya Tahir , Perth Scrapper -
who was in Singapore on holiday in Dec -
to a cosy little corner of my neighborhood -
Big Ben's Place - looks like a little British place from the '60s, no?

Alas, I didn't realise they were famous for their Aussie style pies until now -
or that their beef pies are actually made of Wagyu beef shank !
hmmm & only SGD4 per pie or USD 3.10 or AUD 3.14 ......
I just might head there now since it's lunchtime here.

In fact, we three had their spicy chicken cutlet set lunch that day,
which we very much enjoyed . ;)
Sure was fun hanging out with you , Tanya !
Call on us again whenever you're in town !
