Sketchbook Sat Challenge #4

Found a new sketch challenge to play along with -

Supplies : 

Crate Paper Emma Shoppe 6x6 paper pad, AC White cardstock, 

Maya Road chipboard, Fiskars All Year Cheer stamp set.

I love seeking out new challenges to join in 

at the start of each new year -

here's one that I spotted.

A fun color challenge blog site started by Mona Pendleton. 

Using  a few of my favorite things - 

SRM sticker card sentiment, MR chipboard shape , 

Webster's 8x8 pp , lace trim , heart whimsy , vintage sparkler ,

my own hand colored crinkled ribbon 

I also re-discovered Rock Candy distressed stickles 

which I have used on the flower petals on the pp

here & there . Really gives an effortless, textured sugar coating . ;) 

I also entered this card for the January thank you card challenge over at inspireMe.

thank you card sample for my Card Challenge

For my next card sample for my current card challenge , it's Thanks to Susan once again for helping me discover Nicola's fab card sketch blog -another first for me ! Love her gallery of cards created based on her sketches too ! Great way to showcase everyone's wonderful work in one place !

Supplies : Scenic Route Sumner pps & date label , Fabric flower from Bangkok , Happy Hammer Sunflower brad

I can't say that these supplies are some of my top faves & I dont find them easy to use. Nevertheless I was happy with how this card actually turned out.

V day card sample for my Card Challenge

I made this card today combined with Bety's Valentine's Day card recipe challenge !

Make a card containing some of my favorite things:at least 1 Heart,ribbon,chipboard, at least one flower,glitter,buttons.

Supplies : Luxe Design pp & Monogram , MM Shimmer Heart chipboard, KI MEmories Soft rubber button charm, May Arts ribbon ,AC felt flower

My first ever card challenge will end Weds , Feb 6th ,

which will also be our Chinese New Year Eve here .

So plenty of time to join in .

Most Chinese families usually gather together to have a reunion dinner on that day !

The next few days where the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rat begins will be a long party for many families where pigging out on homemade delicacies , great home cooked New Year meals with special dishes cooked once a year , drinking , gambling , playing cards will be the norm !

Surprising Weds - A Card Challenge by Me !

Inspired by my Australian blogging pal Susan who created a card for the PapertakeWeekly Heart's Desire Challenge & mistakenly thought it was a challenge set by me ,

I decided to create my very own & FIRST card challenge !

First of all in appreciation of all the card / layout challenges out there in blogging land , I must say Thank You so much everyone for keeping on creating new dares / ideas to tickle our papercrafting fancy !

I had a tonne of fun checking out new challenges this past week & finding new blogs to be inspired by !

As such my first ever card challenge is to create

either a Thank You card including the following embellishments -

flowers & brads but not of the usual kind that you would reach out for-

try something different & feel free to use other kinds of embellies too !

or

Create any kind of card with shades of Black, Pink & White .

No limitation on card size or shape !

There you have it ! I trust you will enjoy having a go at it !

For my card sample above , I used fabric Prima flowers with a velvet like quality & large word brads by ATB ( yes not the usual kind for me ! ) , Papers by Prima Marketing & DCWV's All Dressed Up 4x6" paper pad.

WEEK 4 CHALLENGE IS...Tall/Skinny OR Short/Wide - That's right step out of your comfort zone and make a DL sized card. I have to confess to hardly ever making this size as it seems a little hard to get the proportions right but hey, I have made two and would love you to COPY ME!!
