I have some requests to make wedding cards &

I realised I 've never made specifically wedding ones before - this is is no exception ! lol

Wanting to cut into more new Pink Paislee Pop Fashion ,

I rotated the sketch to come up with this multi occasion card ! anniversary, Valentine's etc !

I'll have to try & make more wedding cards yet again .

Challenge 23
This week the theme for the challenge is
Soft Furnishings
you can use fabric, ribbon, stitching, buttons etc, anything you can find on the soft furnishings in the home ie curtains, cushions, sofas etc.

Post It Note Holder - Little Gift Ideas

I'm not sure what took me the longest time to try out these cute little Post It Note Holders !

Maybe waiting for the right papers to come along! hmmm

I used AC Moda Bella papers here .

Definitely great little gifts they'll make , brightening up anyone's desk !

I'm also thinking of using up some older DCWV glittered & embossed papers to use next !

I found a tutorial here (with pics )

but

if you do a google search I'm sure you'll find many others

( & variations ! I also like the little post it note holder keychain )

Basically you can finish in 5 steps or so :

1. Cut cardstock to 7 ½ inches long.

2. Cut cardstock to 3 ½ inches wide.

3. Score cardstock at 3 ½ inches and again at 4 inches.

4.Fold cardstock on score line.

Then flip it over and fold the other side,

both sides should be folded in towards each other.

5.Put adhesive all around the back of the post-it note pad.

Place post-it pad on cardstock with even border of cardstock all the way around.

Finally decorate front of post it note holder as you like !

I am also looking for a suitable sized notepad( A6 is too big ! )

to try out a matchbook notepad idea next !

Sketch This #61 - AC Moda Bella

I was beyond happy to see this week's sketch - so rare to see a sketch suggesting small circles if any at all ! - and it was just perfect to use my newly acquired AC Fla!r adhesive badges + the AC Moda Bella papers - the colours were perfect for the pic I had in mind for this layout !

If you give this sketch a go , I'd love to see what you do with it !

It's such a fun & relatively easy sketch to create with ,I hope you'll give it a whirl !

Other ideas include using epoxy stickers and/or SEI mini coasters for the small circle ideas.

Very much inspired by this new AC collection - from the branding : yes fla!r spelt with an ! to the patterns & colours ! & of course I had to try out all the various new AC embellies too.

Bazzill Basics - Dotted Swiss Cardstock, Pom Poms , Tulle etc

So little heard about Bazzill Basics these days ?

I was happy to learn of their swiss dotted CS - & textured like the Cuttlebug embossing but on 12x12 !!!) as I thought & the colors are different from the Bo Bunny Double Dotted series which are very bright !

Finally pom pom trims are going to be more affordable soon & in a better size than what one can find at haderdashery sections ( ours here can cost a whooping US$ 10 + per yard compared to US$0.75 that Maya Road said they would retail theirs for ! )

& perhaps Bazzill is going to make tulle more than sought after when they hit the stores by the yard ! woohoo !

Inspired by the MM sewing challenge ( which has very clear instructions on how to sew on your layouts ) , I decided to put some of my large DMC thread collection to some use & was so happy that there was very little left of the Jewel Effects thread by the time I finished sewing around the scalloped CS !

Also tried using some scalloped mesh here behind the MM CS.

had some fun adding some pearl stamens( think that's what they're called ) to my hand cut blossom !

KI Memories doesn't seem to have a tonne of new releases , especially with Love, Elsie taking a break from this Summer CHA .

However they are still raising a notch with their new lace cardstocks -
adding glitter to the oomph factor !

CHA Summer 2008 Fever !

Based on actual booth pics taken so far :

Making Memories --- will have a monochromatic line in 4 different colors called Paperie

SEI --- will have 7 new paper lines - Oasis , Alpine Frost , Black Orchid , Windsor , Glitzmas !!expect more metallic foiling, shimmer ,flock , some in very rich Autumn colors , spot embossing etc & new WORD albums !!!

Creative Cafe ---has the cuuuutest puffy butterflies around !

Creative Imaginations - has a tonne of new lines ( thankfully they are not all releasing at the same time - some in October etc )

For little boys -- a LEGO City line !!!

More Die Cut cardstocks in new shapes from various product lines ( Art Warehouse , more lace cardstock , die cut CS with doily like lace - yummms !!! etc )

My top fave still remains Pink Paislee at the moment

( the most innovative to me

&

it just shows you don't need every color of the rainbow in the new fonts !!!)

Least fave - Basic Grey -

they no longer surprise with each new release .

Beautiful designs nevertheless.

My most underrated brand - Crate Paper .

The photo with the blue tint was also pop dotted. 

I've just discovered doing partial tinting of pics & am having lots of fun trying out all kind of effects on less than perfect photos. I pixellated the background of the other pic has I didn't like the hair salon background so much & discovered this new effect . 

Using a little of all my current fave things ! lol. including the packaging .
