Quick card tutorial with My Little Shoebox

Here's a simple tutorial to try out a Z fold square card  .

1.To create the card base, cut patterned paper to 11x51/4".
2. Score the card vertically at 51/2" and 21/2" and then fold.

3. Adhere punched or diecut border( 5/14" ) on left and right hand ends of the card.
3. Mount selected cardstock sticker on foam pads slightly overhanging  over the fold.
4. Use cardstock alpha stickers adhered directly unto appropriate parts of the patterned paper for the sentiment.
5. Embellish further with cardstock stickers placing some on foam pads for additional dimension.

Completed card is a 51/2" square.

Pebbles Inc's Country Picnic cards

"I love the details on the kraft tags of the Country Picnic line and knew they would be perfect for notecards . At the same time, I also tried creating my own tag with colored cardstock and a tag punch using the embellishments of this very pretty Country Picnic line and loved how easily it came together.  I especially love the shades of orange and coral with the happy floral patterns "

Pebbles Inc : Free for all project - bon bon treat boxes

"For this week's Free For All project , I decided to create some cute bon bon treat boxes to put in some Hershey's kisses and give them away when I visit someone . I so love Pebbles cardstock quality patterned papers which offer wide possibilities in our papercrafting. Simply cutting a piece of 12x12 patterned paper to the right size (10"x8") and using a scoring board to put the score lines in the right places, a little bit of cutting away of the appropriate parts of the paper and I have these treat boxes ready to decorate and go."

My Little Shoebox - Altered Canvas project - Aiko collection

The new MLSB Aiko collection inspired me to create this adorable reversed canvas shadowbox .
I cut up the circular diecut and decided to score it up for a medallion type effect and used it to mat my photo.

Using the cardstock stickers and diecuts from the Aiko line all around the sides of the canvas helped me quickly finish this project.;)

Mix & Match Pebbles Inc project

I wanted to challenge myself to use holiday or themed lines for everyday cards and was delighted how this 6x6 square card set turned out. I mixed papers and embellishments from Christmas , Valentine's and Baby Girl themes and
the elements came together effortlessly and harmoniously.
This just goes to show how versatile Pebbles' papers and embellishments really are beyond the original themes they were created for.

Happy 29th Feb 2012 ! Happy Leap Year Day !

Happy 29th Feb , blogging friends !
Just had to celebrate this leap year moment for a change .
I trust your February has turned out good in everywhere ,
as it totally has for me .
A gorgeous day here , weather wise in Sunny Singapore -
And wishing you sunshine too - wherever you go ! ;)

Over the weekend I received a request to create a unique, handmade birthday greeting
for a 30 something , chic & successful young man .
So paying a crafty visit to my generous pal , Flora Tan
is always timely and the project worked out as a Zutter mini album - using 4 sheets of cardstock - which yielded 12 pages .

Wanting to keep things simple , being a masculine project-
my main supplies were a sheet of Kaisercraft rub on quotes on Life ,
glimmer mists , tissue tape by Tim Holtz and AC Amy Tangerine's line, some dimensional embellies by AC and buttons.

Loved how easy this project turned out in the end and I think I would like to invest in Zutter next for a gamechange in my crafting ways ! ;)

Back with some Valentine's Day cards to share
and using some of the latest Cottage Cutz  Valentine's Day release!

So the first die I just had to try out is our Layered, Sweetheart Flowers die .
I chose to diecut my flower pieces out of glittered cardstock and metallic foil papr
This flower here is secured with an Eyelet Outlet Cupcake brad
 to go with the sentiment.
Using foam pads to put the layers together I easily created my very own layered dimensional blossoms. Easy Peasy ! ;)

MLSB Enchanted Garden cards

Definitely a big fave from the last release -
My Little Shoebox's Enchanted Garden Line .
I focused on using the cardstock stickers with our rolled flowers.

Looking forward to seeing our latest Winter releases in person soon  -

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead
on my rather sleepy Sunday here ! ;)

MLSB Enchanted Garden layouts

Lest I forget that I know how to create layouts -
2 garden inspired layouts to share today ,
using the My Little Shoebox Enchanted Garden line.

It was definitely a lot about banners and rolled up flowers last year .
I spy the Chevron trend may not let up just yet
( although I haven't tried that one yet- perhaps I will venture with a black & white Chevron french manicure - but not in my papercrafting yet ) .
Otherwise I'm not sure if there's a particularly new trend yet for 2012.
Seems to be a continuation of the past trends still to me .

You're Sweet !

While waiting for the latest Cottage Cutz Valentine's release to reach our sunny shores,
I took a look at one of my very favorite earlier releases - the July 2011 Carnival release -
to see which designs would work with a Valentine's Day theme.
The Cotton Candy die easily stood out for me and I went on to diecut it in white cardstock so as to color in the colors to match the DP I was using.

I used Pebbles Inc chalk to color &
added some stickles to add a pop of color and dimension as well.

Thanks for stopping by !
