More BG Oxford cards

Hey blogging friends ,
I have been busy good this August -
lots going on behind the scenes - crafting wise & otherwise ! ;)
I made these cards a coupla weeks ago when I wanted to use up as much of the BG Oxford 6x6 paper pad as I could at one go !
Love the versatility of this line - definitely great for both masculine & feminine cards .

& I've almost forgotten about this stash now as I grabbed hold of the latest BG Indie Bloom 6x6 paper pad last week - & already created some Fall themed cards ( surprise ! Surprise ! ) I don't think Indie Bloom is obviously a Fall theme line but certainly some of the colors do work together for a touch of Autumn ;)

And here's a card with a fave Girls' Paperie line -
pardon the imperfect sentiment stamping here ;)
I have learnt how to use the Tim Holtz tissue tape -
really is a great touch on any project !

Last week , I also brought home the Crate Paper Random collection pack ( & EP Happy Days ! ) -
another surprise to myself - it was at a little better than usual discount so that of course helped but I felt that I could use it at least more than once immediately on some projects . Hey ! Hey ! & Oh ! I couldnt help bringing back a few pieces of the latest MME Lost & Found 2 papers - the glitter is just irresistible on those papers !
Hope to use them quickly real soon !!!

This is the quickest present/project I've made todate - needed before i headed for a birthday party that same night.

An altered acrylic photo frame + a 14 page cy handmade 6x6 accordion album made only from the WP Let's Celebrate papers . Took me a good one and a half hours to put them together from scratch.
Just gotta love WP when you need an elegant , feminine project to come together quickly . ;)

I didnt have time to take pics of the accordion album - so this was at the end of our dinner party .

A little bit of bling , stickles & gorgeous Prima blooms and everything comes together quickly .
& some Prima crystal swirls in black for some oomph !

Happy Sunday ! - Hi, There!

Just a reminder blogging friends, you have till Sunday at midnight pacific time to participate in the My Little Shoebox blog hop to be entered to win all of the Treats we have for you!! My treat can be found here.

===================================

I must say that tools in my papercrafting are such  gamechangers for me!
I'm NOW having even more fun than before with my Cuttlebug ,
diecutting with Cottage Cutz's latest , adorable releases.
No project now feels complete unless I add even one little tiny Cottage Cutz diecut !
It's that gamechanging for me !

For my first card here , I wanted to try out the coordinating Orchid die
And loving  frames at the moment , I couldn't resist adding half a circle ornate frame
to "contain" my piecing . ;)  I also glitzed up the Orchid Flower with some Stickles !
A little bling is never wrong , huh ?! I also used foam pads to pop up the design as and where I wanted more dimension.

No matter your cardmaking style , whether it be on the simpler side or otherwise ,
the use of diecuts to me simply gives you a unique finishing  no matter how many times
you use the same design !

For this Thank you card , I have combined the girl silhouette and ribbon diecuts from the Cameo and Oval Frame die  with the ornate circle frame  for a more balanced design with this card orientation.

I wouldn't say that clean and simple is my go to style usually with cards,
but it was easy to be inspired to try  to this clean , graphic look for
a change here ! ;)

So, don't allow your dies to be in cold storage .
Keep them always in sight on your crafting table and the more you use them ,
the more your creative mind
will find ways to get more out of them ! ;)

But that's not all , we also have a Grand Prize giveaway -
here's how to qualify - on each of our blogs - look for a SECRET LETTER -
when you reach the last blog - Erin's - she will tell you what to with them !
easy peasy huh ?! Just don't miss anyone's blog and make sure you go in the order specified ! ( hint , hint ! )

And now on to my Halloween layout to share - this is my second ever Halloween layout I've ever attempted and
made possible also with much thanks to dear Jing Jing for letting me "borrow" her photos  of her adorable younger daughter !

I used practically every paper in this line here  - layering them up.

I tried out some of the die cuts from the Cottage Cutz MLSB Spooky Treats die -namely the raven and sweets cut out of coordinating patterned paper.
Used the Tim Holtz rosette die here for a fun embellie.

Love the adorable characters of the cardstock stickers.

And learning to use mini alphas as part of my journaling on top of a journaling tag. ;)

So You've made it this far - bravo !!!! ;)
Now unto my SECRET LETTER for you -  remember - "H"  !

ODBD & Basic Grey

Some quick card shares -
cards I made with my second order of ODBD stamps .
I havent had time to make more since then .
So not much stash building either going on here! teehee !
CHA Summer arrivals are in absolute full swing here .
I've found a great way out of NOT buying more - simply get much busier in other non scrappy areas of your life ! No time to use stash, so no need to buy more , rite ?;)

I used the BG Oxford 6x6 papers here .
A touch of bling and Prima flowers and leaves are surefire ways of finishing them off
when I dont have time to add on ribbons . ;)

My Little ShoeBox - Heartfelt - Card

This month I chose to work with My Little Shoebox's Heartfelt line for my DT projects .
I definitely enjoy switching out to a different style every now and then
and it's only too easy to go shabby chic with this Heartfelt line .

And how about something different to share on this blog ? LOL
Evidence  of my sometimes cosmopolitan life ?!
That's the nice thing in little Singapore -
we don't have to travel out of the island to meet peeps from all over the world.
Can you even guess the different nationalities represented  here? ;)
Checking out a new Italian restaurant called Capri last nite - we left very very late to say the least !
gotta love their Tiramisu and homemade ginger liquer , not to mention their Sembuca shots !!!
We have just finished off a plate of warm lemon cake here - mamma's recipe ! yums !!
It was full house last night , great going for a one month old restaurant.

Happy to report too that my 2010 weight target
of losing just 5 kg is finally materializing NOW !
( oh yeah! Never say NEVER ! )
yup , just lost 3 kg ( more of it was water I suspect ! )

and I can finally appreciate wearing dresses ! yay !
enjoying a more active social life ( oh yeah ! - my amicis here are totally non scrappy pals ) ,
exercising , being able to eat anything I want .
Oh the joy & wonder of a simple change like that ! I kid you not .
It's all thanks to having discovered Resveratrol & Dr PPARs( a wholefood )
in the last 3 months. ;)

Carousel Birthday Cards

\

When I first saw this Carousel Silhouette die , I just knew
I would want to make birthday cards with it .

For this card , I layered a cream colored patterned paper over black textured self adhesive cardstock.

To pretty it up I added a pink ribbon die cut from the MLSB Cameo & Oval Die
with a touch of lavender pearl bling.
Some Diamond stickles on the carousel finishes this card off quickly.

I used the tickets cut from the Ticket booth die to "hold" my sentiment using MLSB mini alphas.

I also tried out die cutting the carousel in black self adhesive cardstock
and gave the horses a different treament from the first card -
I used Tim Holtz Distress stains  for the blue and green horses
and topped them off with Diamond Stickles,
and faced them the opposite way from the first card.

I just love how versatile this Carousel Silhouette die is -
and I'm only just getting started using them on different types of projects.

My First Eyelet Outlet DT creations

First up is a tri  shutter card featuring Eyelet Outlet's Musical Notes Quicklets and Musical Instruments brads.
& here's a link to a tutorial for a tri shutter card for those interested.
(you can also do a search on youtube as I often do with such fancy fold cards)

I used Basic Grey's Oxford 6x6 papers for a masculine feel for the card.

I really love how these next 2 cards turned out - they are different from what I do usually - which sometimes take us by surprise - highly inspired by the products I used.
Cottage Cutz MLSB Oval frame & ribbon die cuts were the starting point of my design for both.

Here I mixed Eyelet Outlet's butterfly, flower and mushroom brads to coordinate with this cute Doodlebug Design Home Sweet Home scene.

And finally this cute love bird brad scene card .

The sentiments are Lawn Fawn's .  Gotta love their font !

K pop cute !!

I was asked by DD to create a 12x12 size card for a 16 year old schoolmate( a boy ! )  who's just crazy about this K pop singer , Izzy !
So looking at the pics I was forwarded I created a little accordion card within the layout .
Leaving lots of white space so that his classmates can doodle in their birthday greetings .

Green was also a requirement on the layout
and I went with some MME Lime Twist for the base of the design.
The accordion album uses paper and journalling spots from the new MLSB Playtime Up in the Sky
which has a matching kites & clouds background.

Also features a new product by Chelley Bean Designs - the white typed journalling strips.

Other supplies : Eyelet's Outlet's brads - to hold close the accordion - camera , airplane.
Baker's twine, metal bling, MM buttons, Stickles, Basic Grey bling and doily ribbon.

Matchbox storage box - ** My Little Shoebox Enchanted Garden **

A quick little project to share today ,
made easy only because it is an Accucut die cut ,
all thanks to a generous crafty friend - Flora Tan
she let me cut up a storm for a coupla hours earlier this week .
( Do check out her blog which is still work in progress - it will be filled
with great , practical tips for crafters online .)

Also got to try out Tim Holtz's rosette die - I've used one here -
not  completely folded out 'cos the box isn't very big.
These boxes are quite deep and great for storing  my MLSB Rolled flowers.

I also used Eyelet Outlet's mushroom and stitched flower brads for the box handles
and Butterfly ribbon in Fall colors.

I don't always notice singing birds around my bouganvillea but that evening
as I was taking pics of my matchboxes here ,
I couldnt help noticing them for the first time
and tried snapping at them ( with the DSLR only ! ;)
I have no idea what kind of birds these are -
if anyone would tell me I'd be happy to find out ! lol .

How do we look ?

Around here , that is ?
Notice any changes, blogging friends  ? **winks and laughs **

I have a 3D tropical travel themed project to share today -
this was created for my first Aug blogpost over at Cottage Cutz's blog
One that celebrates quite a few of our
Carnival and My Little Shoebox  releases together.

On the exterior of my little travel tote here ,
I have created a little scene  -
I pieced together the ticket booth  - using an assortment of paper types -
different colors of glitter paper,
green glitter and foil paper(for the window pane) , patterned papers
and white cardstock for the clouds which I also added Stickles .
The horses I added for fun from the Carousel Silhouette Die .
The clouds I cut from the My Little Shoebox  designed die - Summertime Fun.

My little travel tote folds out to reveal a photo stand ,
which I decorated easily using -
the Boardwalk Carnival Silhouette - using blue glitter and foil paper.
The orange tickets for the word "Fun " were cut using the Ticket Booth die

The airplane here was cut from the Airplane w/Banner & Sign die
and I've used the banner cut with the same die with the word "Fun" - a pink ribbon it became !
The white arrow from that die I layered on top a pink water lily for a fun dimensional embellie .;)
I've placed the white cloud (cut with the MLSB Summertime Fun die )behind my green airplane . My brown bird on the sun is also cut using the same die.
My green ( legless - all our bird dies have legs actually- too cute ! ) bird
is from the Laundry Line die .

As you can tell , I had a tonne of fun using up
adifferent dies from our July releases .
Truly the possibilities are endless -
trying out different paper materials to cut with these adorable designs .

Have fun in the sun wherever you are !
I sure am !
Complete with a new blog makeover to usher in a new season in my crafting journey ! lol
