more GD creations for myStampBOX

How about a little self challenge ? Still not yet December - how about creating some  coordinating gift sets. Create a tag/gift wrap or card/gift bag or other matching sets.
I would love to see your creations!

After assembling the background on the kraft gift bag here, I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment a couple of times below the top scalloped border. I also used the present stamp on a coordinating paper, coloring in the bows with red glitter glue. I cut it out and used it as an embellishment.
And viola, here is a gift bag and tag set that
is quick and easy to put together with coordinating scrapbooking papers.

Instructions
- Trim cardstock to 5.5”x8” , fold  to create card base of 4”x5.5”
- Trim patterned paper, then add a Dooblebug Frills border on the left of the patterned paper ,
 and adhere to card front.

- Stamp Christmas ornaments  on 2 different coordinating pieces of patterned paper, cut out, then adhere to card front.
- Add 2 different Doodlebug Frills borders to “hang “ the ornaments , adhere to card front.
- Add stickles / glitter glue for a touch of bling on the ornament and when dry , top off with Glossy Accents.
- Create 2 red and white twine bows , adhere to ornaments and finish off with a bling center on the bows.
- Stamp sentiment on a die cut banner
Tip : Other ideas to “hang” the ornaments – use hemp string, twine or a bling border instead of the ribbon. Or stamp another design – a flourish or other line designs.
Supplies: Cardstock: Kraft Swiss Dotted Carstock. Patterned Paper: WRMK White Christmas. Embellishments: Red & White twine, rhinestone and pearl bling, Doodlebug Frills paper ribbons, Martha Stewart Die Cut labels. Adhesive: Glossy Accent, Glue Dots

ipad in the park

I just received a set of Coastline Twinking H2Os from Creative Imaginations as a prize
and wanted to try it out on my Magistical Memories Ornate Teet chipboard here.
Love their rich, shimmery color that is unlike any other mediums .

I've also used papers sponsored by Paper Trunk - from their Kraft & Maybe Baby lines.
And my fave Helmar Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere my chipboard to the layout.

& talking about loving mediums and wanting to try them all -
here's a list of supplies I compiled that I'd have to get if I want to even try out the last lesson
by Jennifer McGuire for her Holiday Thinking Inking class.

here goes:
1. Sticky back canvas
2. Glossy paper ( Ranger's)
3. Matt Medium
4. Liquid Pearls ( the latest colors !)
5. Perfect pearl mist
6. Grungepaper
7. Alcohol ink
8. Vintage photo distress ink ( and more actually )
9. Enamel accents in white ( and black )

ICSketches #97 - and more Christmas cards

This week over at ICS the designers were sponsored with images from DZ Doodles.
I am particularly pleased with finally putting my MM Slice to work here -
I cut 2 triangular photo corners and 2 scalloped squares -
nothing mind boggling at all - but it sure feels good to use a tool
that I had allowed to be a white elephant for nearly a year !
I have been cutting words and frames since creating this card . ;)
This is the also the first card actually
where I went to town with the Marvy Liquid Applique . lol.

This card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's Holiday Thinking Inking Class -
Love how easy this background was created.
Smoosh Broken China heavily on a piece of white cardstock,
then pounce 3 colors of Perfect Pearls with a brush on the wet ink -
I used Gold, Pink & Blue powders.
Really easy & fun !

Other supplies :
Such Sweet Tierney's snowflake chipboard button,
CC's Mitten Weather pps,
EK Success border punch,
Prima bling center,
MM Glittered foam cardinal.

And another Echo Park Papers Everybody Loves Christmas card . ;)

Tags for mystampBOX

Here's a set of Christmas tags I created for myStampBOX as a  GD.

I used the gift stamp from their Merry Mr Snowman set and created customised embellies to go on the tags.
Here's one - paper pieced with some micro beads on the bow.
I also used Glossy Accents over them just to be sure they dont drop off ! ;)
For this little present I used Green Stickles on the bow & added some paper curls for some fun dimension .

& for this final tag - I absolutely loved Glossy Accents for life
after I was done with these Candy Canes . lol .
I dunno how I even lived without it inthe first place.
I must say this particular stamp set was really easy to use for Christmas projects !
I really couldnt stop creating with them .

Little Shop of Sketches #75

Here is this week's Little Shop of Sketches #75
and a very inspiring one at that !
I think I just might have another go with this sketch again since
I didn't even follow all the elements closely with my Hambly take here.

I haven't added much to my Hambly stash in recent years
so this is a mix of the latest overlay & embroidery paper
with a few older papers and alpha rub ons .
The flowers here are the latest die cut product by Imaginisce called Roly Rosies ( i think ! ) .
I love how easy it really is to simply roll these florals into shape using their Petal Roller!
Somehow Sizzix dies just don't have as much appeal to me as Cuttlebug's( still ) -
I would so love to get my hands on their latest quiiling die sets for eg.... -
and I certainly haven't acquired the ever popular Sizzix 3D rose ( or Tim Holtz's tattered petals ?)
So only too happy to try these Imaginisce ones - I also have their bigger blossoms - Pop up Posies- they turned out great too !

Certainly very happy using up new& old stash together -
even managed to sneak in some old Q&Co large brads -
and those manila shipping tags are finally put to good use here!
hey ! hey ! you should be seeing more of them in future projects for sure !
To say that I am right now sick of buying the latest & greatest is just putting it mildly !
Yeah , yeah ! You heard me right there . So much good stash not used well and yet ....
Wish me luck ( yet again ) untill the new CHA Winter stuff starts trickling in -
for us here , that could happen as early as late Dec ! sigh !

BTW , I am sponsoring 6 yards of crinkled ribbon as a  prize for international participants
over at Little Shop of Sketches this month !
So use at least one of Nov sketches to get your entry in to win! ;)

A wedding keepsake - canvas project

This week over at Magistical Memories' blog , I have a canvas project to share for a change.
Not often that I get to create a wedding keepsake & I definitely took the opportunity here .
This lovely young couple had a 1940s wedding theme in mind and I looked first at G45's Le Romantique papers to get the project started.

I also used Magistical Memories' new flowing flower corner and side by side double scallop frame .
I used Clearsnap's Winter Frost glitter & stickles to cover the scallop frame.
I also used the flowing flower corner chipboard as a mask & used Clearsnap's Smooch Spritz in Silver Foil,
to extend the use of that design.
Whipped out the handy dandy white applique here & there as well . ;)

I sure got a lot out of the G45 Le Romantique pps for this wedding theme -
whipped up another wedding congrats card here , by request.

Get Picky

with a new Australian challenge blog !
New challenge , new inspo ! ;)
And a great way to use up more WP WonderFall pp for me .

Their Sketch Challenge #2  is up and running .
I brought out some forgotten Prima florals, swirls & butterflies
to throw into the mix here.

Webster's Pages has a great collection of die cuts and I've used a
Waiting for Santa postage edged here just for fun.
Misted over it first before adhering it down.
Also found some long forgotten Jenni Bowlin chipboard button
& journaling ticket to use here.

Everybody Loves Christmas

It seems I bought up at least 3/4s of the new Christmas paper lines this year ! lol
& there are some I've yet to cut into - like the CC Mitten Weather ...
So here's some Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas cards for a change .;)
Recently I was inspired by Paulien ( a Dutch crafter ) -
She has such a way using white puffy paint on her card creations
that I just had to try something similar -
I 've had my tube of White Liquid Applique &  let it languish in the stash for more than 2 years ?
 Duh , double duh !!!
Now I think I've used up half the tube ! ;)
thanks to this technique I just discovered !

Trying out white liquid applique with stickles .

New crinkled ribbon color  in Christmas red ,
transparency sentiment by Tanya Leigh Designs ( thanks much , hun !) ,
Penguin sticker is also Echo Park .
& using the MR chipboard the way I want ( when I bought them ! ) ,
trying out glitter for a change
( still prefer Stickles for now - not much mess with it ) .

Magistical Memories' Jan Guest Design Team sketch challenge

Here's the sketch by Tina for the January Guest Designer challenge
You can use any brand of chipboard to take part in this challenge
and remember the winner gets LOTS of fun chipboard goodies
to play with throughout their month as Guest designer!!

And my take featuring the new Budding Swirl chipboard piece( design by Nicole Lombardo )

I thought this chipboard design would work well
with some of the new Glitz Design Scarlett & Hoopla papers .

I first dry brushed some off white acrylic paint and before it dried up,
I glimmer misted using Tattered Leather.
I  colored the bud using red distress and green stickles .

Just had to do a technique-y layout with these papers -
love their vibrant colors of course ! ;)

I've also incorporated a rhinestone swirl design by Nicole Lombardo
( one of our featured sponsors)  for some added swirls in bling.

Hope to see some of my scrappy pals taking part in this challenge !
Alas, there can only be one winner at a time but you gotta play to win in the first place ! ;)

smirk, frown , sigh ....

New pics , new inspo !
usually works for me .;)
Finally some new pics of DS to scrap .
Using up my last few sheets of Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology here -
for the background paper- Beautiful Butterfly - I misted in a circle using Black & Yellow colors.
Inside the masked circle I used distress inks to highlight some of the different designs in resist ink
and then I spattered some yellow Maya Mist .

The Magistical Memories' chipboard scallop border ( design by Amy Teets )
was mostly left raw with some inking along the edges with Walnut Stain.
This season the Magistical Memories' DT is fortunate to work with
myStampbox - I used their Sigh Gush Gasp clear stamp set
for the fun expressions here with Versafine Onyx Black ink  ;
Nicole Lombardo Designs - the offwhite scrapbooking scroll on the left of the chipboard border;
& Helmar - tried out their Scrapdot adhesive with the scroll die cut.
layout design was inspired by the first Sun sketch for Nov  over at
Pink Paislee's blog.

ICS90

This month over at ICS
we have fellow DT member Stacy contributing with sketches too.

Another Crate Paper Snow Day card for the Christmas card stash.
Embellishments here are mainly Snow Day chipboard pieces
I finally broke out my white Liquid Applique
which I've had in my stash for 2 years ? never used until now !
But now that I know how to use it , I may not be able to stop ! lol!
